For the last few weeks I've come in from work smelling and my family thought it was body odour.
To cut a long story short I've finally found out it is actually my winter gloves that stink and they leave an awful smell on my hands.
Mrs Dimple has washed them but they still stink.
So, please spec me some excellent winter gloves that don't smell.

Did you see one of my previous comments?

I was using Castelli diluvio almost daily and they stank. Replaced with Alture night vision gloves which have a thin liner inside but are rugged and warm :)

[Damien] - check the ride I've just posted on strava. You should be able to spank the segment that I scored 5th place on, it you fancy another KoM!

Nice one! I'm not sure about a KoM but I'll give it a go!

I was in a hill climbing mood today. I've still not got up the courage to take on some proper hills like in Rivington but it'll do for now. I did end up getting that KoM though :)

Based on Bolton Rd/Newbrook Rd consistently kicking my arse, while the shorter steeper hills aren't giving me too much trouble, I reckon I'm only any good at hills I can sprint up quickly enough to not tire out on.

I have some gloves ive always had for long walks when its cold they're not big padded ones just thin slightly fluffy material fit well round my hands

but they make my hands really ache after only 15-20 minutes riding, and i cant figure out why..

Weighed the old vs new with tyres, tubes and skewers (no cassette on either)

Rear - 1550g

New - American Classic Victory 30 with Continental GP4000S tyres

Rear - 1200g

Total weight saving - 550g (1.2Lb)

Also fitted this week are the Fizik Arione saddle and Koolstop Salmon brake pads all round.

I had a church meeting today, so couldn't get out for the standard Saturday ride. I did ride there and back though, about 7.5 miles each way, so that's something. I was desperately slow, as I had a rucksack and a sore leg and was desperately tired as my 3 year old kept waking up last night having nightmares!

Managed 50miles today. First 30 wen't well but last 20 had absolutely zero feeling in my feet. Average temp was 6c but wind chill was much colder.

After riding the Ti with SRAM's double tap for the last few weeks the first 10 minutes back on Ultegra were quite interesting :P

Also note to self: Stick to main roads Autumn and fallen leaves = slippery side roads.

Indeed it is very dodgy in the morning. I could swing my car wheel left to right and keep going straight today on the way to work.

Wouldn't have wanted to be on a bike that's for sure.

Tyre question... The strip in the middle of one of my tyres is coming away a bit. Is it new tyre time, or can I stretch it out a bit by gluing it with rubber cement or something?

Great ride, fitness is improving beyond recognition from the fat ass I was at the start of spring. Face covered in, for want of a better word, poo. Damp and sticky country lanes covered in animal residue transferred by the tyres of farmer's tractors.

I must admit I had wondered what the hell the smell was for the last 8 miles or so of the ride, when the Wife told me to get in the bloody shower as I was stinking out the house!

If it's splitting i'd replace it, the last thing you want is to be speeding along and the inner tube let go.

I have these and have been decent, i was set to replace them for gp4000s as i assumed i would get punctures but none so far *touch wood* For £12 i dont think you can complain!

I got the lens for the magicshine clone, it defi improves the beam pattern but does nothing to aide not blinding drivers, quite tempted by the Fenix and may well put that on the birthday list!!!

It's not splitting as such. It's a dual compound tyre and it's the grippy central strip that's coming loose.

Its your only contact with the road (unless your kissing the tarmac with your head, arm, leg etc), i wouldnt skimp on this personally.

Ouch! Were you ok? Were your tyres at the right pressure? Nasty business. I got a pinch flat 2 weekends ago from a pothole despite having my rear tyre at 120psi.
