Raging! The day I left my pump lying on my bed is the day I puncture! Weather stayed clear,set my tyre pressures and was going well...typical!!!
Two train fairs and walks makes me think I deserve a kebab tonight. Will be fitting a saddle bag with a co2 inflator tomorow.
1 in 1000 miles aint bad.

co2 inflators are brilliant!
I got one a couple of years ago and i'v not once had a puncture with that thing in my pocket
(still got no idea how to work it)

Hope that works for me! It was a pinch flat so totally my fault aswell, I'll be sounding like a customer next complaining about tyres n all.
I think it's karma as I was absolutely flying and didn't stop for a man walking with his bike.....maybe next time I'll stop n see if he's ok.
And for balance I did stop on the way to work the other day to help an old man by using my pump to inflate his tyres.
Anyone used or using Shimano RS20 or RS30 wheels?
Looking at changing my Alex S500 wheels & trying to decide between these & Fulcrum 5's, but I've heard the freewheel is a bit on the noisy side on the Fulcrums.
Not looking at spending a large amount, can get the Shimano's for £150 & the Fulcrums for similar price.
Other recomendations welcome BTW

I have fulcrum 7s. The freewheel is loud, but i love the noise!
My dad also has fulcrum 7s on his bike which are silent
Dont let the noise put you off tho, you can pack it full of grease and then its pretty quiet.

Rs30s are around £135 from ribble,that's better than I can get at trade.
Fulcrums seem to be hit and miss with the noise. Had a set of 5s for a guy that were silent but another customers were noisy.
Id choose Shimano for the spare parts as fulcrum bits can be iffy to get hold of.
Have you thought about mavic aksiums? These must be close to your budget somewhere.

Using RS30s as commuters, bombproof so far. Not the lightest (RS20s are lighter) but they seemed to have a reputation for durability so I went for them (i.e. I liked the look of them
)My old WH-R535s also gave me years of good service, which is why I went with Shimano.
Be aware, for £150 you could get an arguably stronger (more spokes) and probably lighter pair of built wheels, but they won't look as trick.

It really is loud enough for that!
Also good for letting other cyclist around you know that you're freewheeling, and that they should start pedalling faster.

A bit of spannering tonight. It's getting dark and there's no power in the garage, so a combination of the resifual light from the outside lights and my Makita battery lamp gave me enough light to work with
I never liked the look of my Wellgo LU950 pedals on my Raleigh because the anodised alloy pedal is too modern looking for the frame and the chrome toeclips with red straps are too old looking. So I bought a pair of these:
They look bang on but I can't get on with them. The tag on the back is too high up and you can't flick the pedal over to get your foot in the clip. Looking at the old Campagnolo pedals (these are a shameless copy by Raleigh), the Campy ones have a deep tag hanging out the back of the pedal so must be a lot easier to flick over. They're also too narrow so I've swapped them back. I think sometimes function has to take priority over form
The bearings in my MKS Sylvans were also giving me problems on the Bob Jackson. These were just a matter of nipping the bearings up though. It's nice to be able to adjust things!

intrested, can you use any brand of threaded cannisiter or do you have to use the original ones?

I've only used the originals but looking at some generic ones I can't see any difference so can't see why not.
I believe the threaded cartridges are universal but if you do want Genuine Innovations threaded, Halfrauds are doing a 2 pack for £4.99 and you get three packs for the price of two making them a shade under £10 for 6 cartridges.
