Just ordered my first pair of clipless pedals, M520 for £19.99 delivered. I fully expect a tumble or two before I get used to them!
Had my M540's for a few weeks, not tumbled yet. It's largely down to common sense and unclipping before you need to. Though I nearly fell off the other week when a car driver overtook me near some lights and then suddenly pulled into the curb, causing to break suddenly, even though I tend to pull out further near lights, I was well over a metre from the curb.

or any other options ?

If you have £300-£400 to spend, I'd suggest you buy something second hand that's better. I've had a look on eBay for you and there's loads of great bikes to be had. I don't know what size you'll need, but here's an example.

If you can let us know how tall you are and your inside leg measurement, we can recommend a frame size that should fit. You'll still need to go for a proper bike fit though.

im 5,10. I dont know my inside leg measurement, not realy able to check that right now im afraid :P i will have a look on ebay though thanks

Anyone had experience with the Fenix TK11? Is it any better than the LD20 in regards to runtime, power?
Well the TK11 is twice the run time and about 50% brighter in lumens count. The downside is the 18650 torches are fatter and heavier than the L2D and LD20, so might wobble around a bit compared to a 2xAA torch if you use the 'twofish' style handlebar mounts.

I use AA and AAA torches because I can share the batteries and charger with other stuff round the house, like remote controls, Atari Lynx in the toilet, radio in the garage etc etc. I don;t have anything else that would use 18650 cells.

I guess most of you have received an email from CRC but they've got an fantastic offer if you're planning to buy stuff anyway at the moment:

Looks like the proposed Radio Shack/Team Leopard-Trek merger has hit some UCI difficulties. They haven't been awarded an automatic Pro Tour Team place next season, and have to attend a UCI hearing shortly. Am reading various reasons why this may be (UCI getting back at Bruyneel/the criminal investigation into Becca).

What would we do without 'Frandy' in le Tour next year? :(

I think I'll opt for the smaller LD20. How accurate are the run time figures? Website states 'Turbo Mode: 205 lumens (2hrs)'. Is 2 hours a realistic figure? anything around ~1.5-2hrs would be ok for me.

Have a more competitive time trial? :p

Mine is the older L2D which is a slightly less efficient LED and I use batteries that can take the maximum number of recharges rather than all-out capacity. I get close to an hour and a half out of mine. 1.5 hours seems realistic I would think.

I'm in exactly the same situation and get nearly exactly 1hr and 20 mins out of it. The more efficient LD20 should make an hour and a half fine. Also i use Eneloops which aren't famed for their long run times, they're designed more for not losing charge through lack of use + the ability to recharge a lot some something like some high mAh Sony batteries would likely give an even longer runtime.

Same with my batteries. I chose them because they'll sit in the drawer for months and not go flat. GP ReCyko is anyone is interested. I think there are others on the market like them.

Sounds good then, will order the LD20 soon. I have a bunch of 2700mah Uniross batteries in a drawer somewhere that should be good to go, no idea how they compare to the Eneloops or GP ReCykos though.
