Tickets are open for the cycling world cup in november..check ticket master. All the ring side ones are pre-taken so only unreserved seats only.

First time teamGB will be out since olympics. I got a pair all day sat and sun tickets...now to find someone who will go with me.

They have all gone apart from the first qualifier, not sure if it's worth going for that as I've never been to a velodrome!

yea its annoying. I went on the site at 11am, exactly when they were released for general public and ALL of the ring side (reserved seating) has been taken. Only the top unreserved seating is left.

Just ordered a new bike. Technically it's not a road bike, but as it has no suspension I am certain the MTB guys won't tolerate it;

The website says it'll be 14 days until delivery, which gives me a bit of time to sell off the other bikes. Anybody interested in an On-One Pompetamine Versa Pro, or a Specialized Globe 2008? :P

Stay over and bring the bike. Then you can ride up some lovely roads around here. Over the tak me doon road, up the crow road or even go up the Bealach na Bà :p

He's from englandshire, he could go up Scott St and think it was a big hill :p
The Bealach is a long way from Glasgow as well? About 4-5 hours drive? Well worth it though, it's the biggest road climb in the UK.

it's a nice looking bike.
Are you planning doing any cyclocross style stuff on it? Or will it just be a commuter?
It's an ugly lump of aluminium, but that doesn't bother me really. It'll be used mainly for commuting, but I'll also use it for bridleways etc that I wouldn't feel comfortable taking the Van Nicholas on. I was considering visiting the lake district again this autumn, and I think I'd rather take the cross bike than the VN so that I can get off-road a bit.

The main motivation for getting it is that my Pompetamine is starting to frustrate me. I've grown tired of having only 8 widely spaced gears, and having all that weight on the back axle makes it handle quite erratically. The Arkose will be at least a kilogram lighter, and have that weight more evenly distributed, which should help immensely. With any luck I'll be able to recover half the cost of the Arkose with the sale of the two bikes, so all in all it seems like a decent upgrade for the money.

Was it showing as in stock?

Yea it was instock, this was mainly the reason i went for the white colour instead of waiting for the black. Also, it says on my invoice week 34 planned delivery.

Perhaps it will get sent tonight from them as i guess they are still open and UPS would come as late as possible *clutching straws :p

Any wheel builders got any neat tricks for measuring ERD?

Use a tape measure. However... don't expect to get the spoke length right first time even if you're using a spoke length calculator. It's annoying, but I think a lot of it comes down to experience.
What I forgot to add was the actual ERD varies from what you measure due to the wall thickness of the rim and whether the spoke holes are riveted. On top of that, there's the thickness of the head on the spoke nipple to take into account which might make another millimetre difference between brands.
