I'm not sure what you are all doing because my Bontrager track pump cost less than £20 and pumps tires to 120psi with ease so I'd expect the Topeak to be even better (the reviews certainly suggest so). You'd have to bend a lot of valves to justify the extra £30 for one of those Lezyne ones.
 
Just bought this turbo trainer as I've hardly ridden at all this winter, I'm to much of a fair weather rider!

Went for this model as apparently it has a much higher resistance than the normal crono fluid for not much more cash. I'm a powerful rider (but my power to weight ratio isn't good :p) so I think it should be the one for me.

I've got a Bontrager Charger, cost around £17 if I remember rightly - 110+psi with ease.
 
After two days off, I'm back in the saddle tomorrow as I have some catching up to do if I want to complete the Strava Festive challenge.

I want to take my Boardman out as it'll be a bit quicker and easier on that, but the roads are still pretty flooded around here, so I might be a wimp and use the commuter instead.

But there's no grit on the roads at the moment, which is the main reason I didn't want to use the Boardman over Winter. I might just man up and take it out anyway.

yeah my 20 quid pump is working perfectly after ~1 year of abuse(literally my younger brother gets a puncture 2 times a week at least) and that adds me and my 2 bikes - so 2 bmx bikes and 1 roadie both pumped up to 100psi+ and its good as new

What's your mileage at? Every time I go out I get soaked lol. Tomorrow & Saturday are both looking crap weather wise :(
 
First time ever i did the boxing day 10mile time trial - managed it in 29:08. :)

Admittedly 3/4 was following my uncle with me leading a quarter but i daren't get too close because of contact so unsure how much i gained as i was a bike length or 2 back most of the time.

Considering i've had the bike (completely stock without TT bars or SPD pedals) for a year and the injuries i have i'm quite impressed as my goals were not finish last and do it in less than 30mins.

Less than 5mins behind winner and looking at few of others who do it every week they were about 2 or 3 minutes quicker in summer.

So all in all a successful year i think for my cycling. :)

Thats a good time.
If you are able to use SPD pedals then that would make a big improvement (once you've learned to pedal in circles).

As for your post in the other thread about a TT bike under £1000 (it's best to use this thread for road bike related stuff, that other thread is for MTBers to compare scars and post pictures of how muddy they managed to get today):
The planet-x stealth is a good choice. Thats the frame I have and it seems that about 60-70% of people at TTs have the same.
Ribblecycles also do some alloy framed TT bikes which are a bit cheaper as well but not quite as good value as the Planet-X when you compare the specs.

Another option is to get some aero wheels and clip on bars for your giant. Again, Planet-X is the place to go for this stuff. I would recommend their carbon clincher wheels (the some ones Kimi just got - he posted some pictures a couple of pages back). Something like that with an alloy braking surface means that you wouldnt need to swap brake pads when you swap wheels.

The wide angle lens that people have bought for the chinese light, did you put it in with the lines on the lens horizontally or vertically?

Horizontally seems to throw the beam quite tall rather than wide.

As long as they fit well they can call them what they like :) And it makes it easier to gage the hierarchy than a bunch of random names. Although I do like Mavic's product naming "Inferno", "Huez", "Peleton", "Avenge" ! lol

Mother Nature has been trolling me all week. Get up check forecast - shows cloudy all day with slight chance of light rain in the afternoon.

Great should be able to knock out 80-90mi in that time. Get bike ready get outside. Slight haze.. get 2 miles away and torrential rain and gale force winds :eek:. Loop around and head back. Get changed, dry off and notice it's stopped raining. :mad:
