Strava segments is seriously addicted! And a great way of training too, I have NEVER gone out specifically to be KOM on a segment, but I must admit I have pushed a bit harder when cycling on segments I know exist (partly how I have a few KOMs at the moment).

^ Another Bristolian :) Where do you generally ride?

I didnt ride much at all in 2012 for various reasons (mainly hangovers). I'm trying to get back into the swing at the mo. I'm NBCC (very occasionally) and Cheesy Riders (though this is mainly dirt). I'm doing the short LVIS as a goal to get me back into "stuff"

Hey Pete, you guys doing a ride this sat? I'm free if so. I need to burn off a few of the mince pies I ate.

...and entire toblerones...

...and 200g blocks of cadbury's whole nut..

...and celebrations...

..oh god I'm terrible...

Fair enough. Give me a shout then and let me know. Could even go with just the two of us (snuggling optional) or see if Minty's free.

Anywhere's fine by me.

uniQ as a primarily fixed road rider, build yourself up a dolan, you'll be much happier with it, those cheap OTP SS, creak, crack and flex all over the place

Dolan F+F, cheap finishing kit, vsprint wheels, on one outboard track cranks get good reviews too

Yeah, I'm game if no one else is out. Have you been up Old Kiln Lane to Bob's Smithy from Bolton? Could do that, then over to the other side of winter hill, past the reservoirs and back over Belmont from the far side. I've not ridden since November so I'd be out of practice, but I may as well get stuck in!

Good shout thanks for the tips :) Definitely looks like a better route.

I've got a rockhopper and I'm looking to make it into my commuter but a good one.
Would a single speed setup work? Or would I struggle on the Hill I have to climb on the way to work?

Ps how much it cost roughly to make it into commuter ie rigid fork ect

I've got very brakes just to clarify

No, it sounds like a plan though. I don't seem to have much power lately so I'm not expecting any blazing speeds. We'll just have a nice chilled one I reckon.

Ive not been asked to work this saturday, so i could be up for it, unless you two are fancying a snuggle

Keep me updated :D

FFS that's another rear light that's failed me. The button on my Cateye rear light does nothing now, and it doesnt look like I can dismantle it to get to the button either.

My Smart R1 is knackered too, the clips are that loose that if you go over a bump it just falls apart.

Glad I have another one too! But I need another backup....any recommendations? I quite fancy something that can go on my rucksack as opposed to my bike.

These look quite interesting, and get a lot of good reviews: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/fibre-flare-ultimate-safety-rear-tail-light-single/

(and look like that can fit to a rucksack too)
