Shouldn't be a huge difference. Try it and find out. If you are using KMC Quicklinks then you can just take it off again.

But if I take off too many links.. i can't exactly add them back on can I

Actually just realised I can fit it on both and see - forgot I don't need the derailleur for that!

Yup, big ring to big ring plus two links is my size guide.

I meant that with quick links removing a chain to check whether it fits is easy.

Yeah looking easy now with the quick links!

Hopefully i can sort out the hanger tomorrow..

Anyone fancy the Compact 50 Sportive 21/7?

50 miles from Cobham and 4500' of climbing. I did it last year and its a nice little event.

im not far from Cobham and i collect my 1st road bike next week... mark me down for the 2016 event i should have got rid of my beer belly by then :)

Catching a Virgin train tomorrow with my bike, really not looking forward to it!

I reserved a bike slot but only have a reference number I received verbally with no other proof. I expect they will deny it means anything. I also don't like the thought of leaving my bike alone even if it is a guarded carriage. Apparently they don't like people using locks.

Thoughts on white wheels on a black (carbon fibre) bike? Very tempted with a set of Tricons for £399 but Merlin only have white (they had black when I spotted them yesterday but they are (were) £499)

Nah!

RS80 C24's for a bit less IMO.
I have the DA C24's and they are sublime.

Purchased a Triban 5 this afternoon, great staff but they have messed up with my helmet. It wouldn't scan so they went and got a new one, says its the same size so didn't test but its slightly too small :(

Managed to do a 11km ride tonight, took 42 mins and I am fubar'd :p Feet no longer hurt but my ass is really feeling sore! I forgot how hard the ride can be on a racer...every bump. Going to need new pedals and shoes, as trainers just hurt my feet. Looking forward to it though :)

Disappointed with the time, but glad I made it back and I did have some walking sections with a couple of the banks. Going to blame it on driving all day, giving blood and only having a chicken sandwich 6 hours before!

i know the feeling, my first ride for a long while last saturday as painful and slow. hopefully the times will start to tumble for both of us.

Wow, absolute bargain!

Today is too nice to sit inside and study so I'll save that for tonight. Waiting for my kit to finish washing then I'm heading off on that ride I planned. Love this weather!
