Look at the Felt Z85 at £925 which is similar style of geometry to those bikes. 105 groupset, Alloy frame, carbon tapered fork and Mavic CXP rims on ok Felt hubs(Formula really).

You should be able to get that at 15% off as we sell most online at that price I think.

The relaxed geometry shouldn't stop the fun too much. Certainly on the Felt range the difference between the Z and the more aggressive F is 2cm taller headtube and 1 degree slacker head angle. They also come with shed loads of spacers so slam the stem and it shouldn't feel too far off.

Decided I'd go see a bit of the local bunched training ride so cycled out to a climb on it. They just dance up it :(

Nice one! I was pondering entering also but I'm still half dead with the lurgi.

Popping codeine like smarties since Fri can't be doing me any favours at all...

Dont get addicted to the codeine!

If it's over the counter stuff he'll be OK... If it's the stuff you get after surgery, then it's probably already going a bit Trainspotting.

Yeah it's just OTC stuff (for now). I never knew sinusitis could be so bloody painful. I'm not really congested so it's not those sinuses that are blocked/infected. It's whichever one causes me this stupid nagging pulsing pain that moves between my jaw hinge, temple and entire eye socket (mainly behind/above) on the right side.

I've had earache, toothache, migraines, sprains, broken bones etc and this has been one of the most painful and debilitating things I've ever endured.

Getting a full night's sleep some time this week would be nice.

Talking of illness, I've woken up with earache this morning. I hope its not the start of something, but its not pleasant. On the Ibuprofen already but this is not what I need ahead of my first sportive this weekend. :/

Why wear full team kit then push

First time I went out for a proper ride, one of the guys was in full team sky kit on a fancy bianchi bike. Turns out he was hopeless. My neighbour was telling me the other day that the first time he took him out with everyone this guy didn't even know how to change gears, having thrown £900 at a bike. He was embarrassed at having brought him out with everyone because he was just hopeless. All the gear and no idea. He's not been out in nearly a year and is now trying to sell his bike for about half what he paid for it, in spite of it barely being used because it's like an XS or something.

Do they use the dual carriageway that runs alongside the M74 then?

I came up that way from Douglas on sunday morning. The first part of it as you go from Douglas to Lesmahagow is abysmal - road surface is shocking. I assume it's a bit better when you get the other side of Lesmahagow? I turned off onto the Sandford/Strathaven road so didn't go up as far as that.

Also, what's your thoughts on Wilier? Have been eyeing up the Izoard XP Ultegra and I see you guys are stocking them.

ffs stupid moto actv.. lost 5 workouts and last one was REALLY juicy.. ;(

going to have to mess around with gpx files again to get my miles back :/

That's on a climb with an 18% average with a final 30% stint! Also they tackled it after already cycling 200km - I'd need to attach a motor to my bike to get up that fresh let alone after 200km.
