Exposure do a seat rail mount for the Flash (and the new TraceR which looks a great improvement) but it means that you can't have a saddle bag.

Otherwise you have bodge options. Some lights also fit better than others, those long slim cateye lights seem to be ok on aero seat posts.

As it's getting fairly pants out and the roads are starting to slime up again, any recommendations for winter tyres? Currently running my hybrid on Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyres.
 
Late spring/early summer/autumn might be best time of year to go given that August is the hottest month of the year. I'm a bit of a masochist and love the heat but I know others wouldn't.

It's all about balance.

Schwalbe Marathon+ are the daddy when it comes to being bombproof. You get more punctures in winter so unless you want to spend more time getting filthy by the roadside or can call the support car then you want decent puncture protection.

Unfortunately there is a trade off. Hard rubber compounds that protect against punctures provide less grip when it's wet, cold and slippery.

If you want more grip then you have to give up some protection.

Tyres I like, from most protection down to most grip are:

Schwalbe Durano Plus
Continental Four Seasons (wiggle have a pair plus two inner tubes on offer)
Schwalbe Durano


Everything else I would suggest would be a summer tyre and you'd be replacing it before the winter was over.

Wouldn't mind a villa or hotel, villa would be better for storing bikes and kit though I'd imagine. Would have to be spring for me though.

Thanks for that :-) I actually got my first puncture from a thorn on my marathon plus a few weeks ago! Much less than other tyres I've had, but surprisingly it was a slim thorn that made it through. Anywho, that's OT...
