I was struggling to decide between l/s jersey + gilet or softshell + base layer. Felt okay without a buff or cap though.

As usual fingers were cold!

5-7˚C, not as windy as last night here in Edinburgh but still chilly enough. Decided on leg warmers and a base layer with the fleece waterproof jacket posted here last week. Lovely lovely ride

Tbh the pink would compliment my gear more, but yeah will probably get both.

My Castelli gloves turned up today so will definitely be wearing them tomorrow. Will wear them for a week or so and then offer up my thoughts.

Initial impressions are that these are a quality piece of kit. The grip seems good, the liner is incredibly comfortable, and they feel solid. They're not too bulky, but of course the proof will be in the riding.

One thing I hate with some gloves is the liner comes away when your fingers are sweaty and you remove the glove. So when you put them back on the fingers don't go in properly!

To be fair I did actually wear an extra layer of waterproof stuff over my shirt and shorts today so I was a bit of a big girl's blouse...

so you're saying that wind is different up north? please! it can get just as bad in london.. actually its unpredictable too due to high buildings so when you go through junctions massive gusts can give you a nice kick up the bum
