How packable is the Rapha Rain jacket? Will it fit into a jersey pocket?

Does anyone have a recommendation for an emergency rain jacket that does easily fit into a jersey pocket?

Yes it fits in a jersey pocket.

I love my Rapha rain jacket that i got in the sale :) It's not at all "boil in the bag" and I like to use it as a warming layer over a jersey.

Eventually. Mine is still as waterproof as the day I purchased it 18 months ago. I always wash w/ non bio at the temps recommended.

Reproofing isn't a faff though anyway it's just a case of adding a lid full the same way you would with any liquid detergent.

Thanks for your previous help uniQ, but had my headset replaced by Cycleworks yesterday. Soooo much better now, and only £35 to be done on the day which seemed fair.

Psyclewerx? Good call, they're round the corner & my first port of call for any bicycle bits, they definitely know their stuff :)

Don't you need to faff about with re-proofing the Rapha though? Whereas fabric like Gore Tex doesn't need that?

Gore-Tex is just a type of breathable and waterproof membrane fabric.

Anything waterproof will lose its effectiveness over time, which is why washing it with a tech wash and reproofing it is a good idea.

Speaking from experience with snowboarding jackets, having used them entire seasons, they tend to start to hold moisture a lot more, so its worth reproofing them.

Don't know what was up with me tonight, went out and thought I'd be cheeky and try for some wind assisted segments on strava, managed to get 10 or so PRs but only 4 of those were with the wind behind me! The one I really pushed on and wanted to get KOM which I previously held, got home and my time was some 20 seconds slower over a relatively short segment (2.5 mins) to come second. :(

Brrrr it's getting cold. 16 miles this evening but I wasn't pushing it much at all, just chilling in every sense of the word.

its the going from warm-ish to cold that annoys me.. once you get used to it its ok! but I know whats coming.. ever november/december I get a really bad throat infection no matter what I do and this happens every year WAT.

so just waiting for that

I went out after work due to the forecast being crap for the next 4 days

went out in a jersey and a long soft shell jersey, with leg warmers on with bib shorts, was warm enough, oh and still had fingerless gloves on

Well I think my 'nicer' bike is going to be hung up from now on, weather doesn't look great this weekend (and I hate getting it dirty ;))

All about fitness now and keeping on the bike, as opposed to going for quick rides.

Sorry, name wrong, don't know why I thought it was called that. Took it to Bike Workshop near the BRI.

Ah the wheel builders, they've been there 'forever' but I don't go in much but they always look busy when I go past.

In a way I'm loathing the thought. But on the flipside it's great for training and makes you appreciate the good bike even more when you bring it back out after a few months. It feels like cheating after riding a heavier bike :)

Whose?

I think we need a "show us your trainer setup" again!

Phoned the bike shop and gave them a kick in the ass today, I have some shipping details now from a courier, being collected Monday then 2-3 days up here I guess.

No racing this weekend anyway as its the V8 supercars.

my stash of bikes.. finally the SS is fully done and ready to fight the rain, snow and fire.. proper commuter that thing is! my buratino got a new wheelset, while the SS had new bars installed and used the crank bros TT levers I had laying around.. and then there's my fun bike BMX.. sadly only ride once or twice a month :(
