Well that's clearly a stupid thing to do and you deserve to ruin it that way.

Good grief, get over yourself. People put things in their pockets. Sometimes there's other things in those pockets. Sometimes the things and the other things don't interact well. It happens. Why not just pick up a screen protector on the off chance that something bad happens?

Starting 2014 as I mean to go on; I was going to ride this morning, but having been up with the baby since 5 and the fact it looks crappy out there I'm postponing until tomorrow when the weather looks quite nice.

lol ok.

Anywho, I'm starting the year off straight away. Off for a very casual ride with some mates. It's chucking it down outside too! Should be good!

Planning to do about 80k tomorrow, the police and council have approved some new road race routes so was going to ride one of them.

Typical - I had another off last night, when SOBER. I went to bump up a curb but misjudged it. The bike stopped dead as I put some power in, it all twisted up and I slammed the ground landing on all my injuries. Very sore this morning :(

The 500km guy that did the ride over night lives a couple of miles from me.. he is suggesting we go for some rides during the weekends but I don't have a chance of keeping up with him when he managed 300+ miles over the night lol.

Any chance I can tag along, I'm sure I'll be able to stay in touch for the first mile or two. :D

I have a genius plan to get my total mileage for 2014 but not clog up other people's strava with 10 commutes per week!

I will record all my rides but only upload "proper" rides to Strava and then upload all my rides to Garmin Connect.

Okay, it's not really genius but it'll work.:D

'S'what I do. Everything into Garmin, select into Strava.

Do you live somewhere incredibly flat? I've only done 2500 km but managed nearly 27km of accent.

Targets for next year are 3.5k km, which shouldn't be to bad as I barely rode for the first 3 months of this year, and an imperial century. I also aim to keep a distance/climb ratio of at least 1km/10m to stop me just doing lazy road routes.

That should say 50K of climbing :D
I did live in a fairly flat area - until about 3 months ago I lived on the vale of York, very flat. I've since moved over to Harrogate and I'm enjoying the Yorkshire Dales!

As an aside, lazy road routes and flat rides can be great training, they can turn into good relentless training rides as you don't get any rest (if you choose not to).

Any one got some Castelli Velocissimo Bib Tights??

Got some Evans vouchers to spend and looking for some bib tights for now till spring time. Anything else on Evans i should consider around that price?

Yup, i've had them for around a year. The red and white ones.

Pad is good, and they're reasonably warm. Quality has been good - washed them many times and still look as new.

First ride of the year for me:

Nothing too long. Got up late, so missed the dry weather and got a bit drizzled on towards the end, but nothing too bad. Looks nicer tomorrow so hopefully get a bit more in.

Even though i've ridden a fair amount so far this winter both outdoors and on the trainer, i'm not feeling great on the bike tbh. Dunno if it's just the time of year or what, but feel unfit.

Ta - sizing wise - i know they are typical italian branding, i.e smaller, but are they really small sizing wise?

They are quite small. Put it this way, i wear a medium and i'm 5' 9" tall, weigh 64kg and have 30" waist and 30" inside leg.

If you can't get to a shop, I dunno what Evans are like for returns. I tend to order online via Wiggle and get a couple of sizes and return whatever doesn't fit, as their returns process is superb.

We'll see if he ever goes for shorter 40-60mile rides! drop me your phone number in trust and I'll give you a shout when I'm up for a ride!
