They are quite small. Put it this way, i wear a medium and i'm 5' 9" tall, weigh 64kg and have 30" waist and 30" inside leg.

If you can't get to a shop, I dunno what Evans are like for returns. I tend to order online via Wiggle and get a couple of sizes and return whatever doesn't fit, as their returns process is superb.

You going to make it out on Saturday for the 9.15 bunch?

Think I'll try and get out on the road bike tomorrow if it's nice enough, even though it looks to be rubbish.

Saturday should be nicer going by the forecast.

Yeah, I'll be there on saturday. You working or you thinking of heading down as well? Looks the nicer of the two days. I'm stuck at home tomorrow looking after the kids anyway, as the missus is back to work now.

I'll be there on Saturday I hope. Making myself want to go ride so that I don't drink the night before...pathetic I know.

I'm back to work on Monday so would feel I'd wasted two weeks not getting out at all.

True, but I think it could still be a struggle, I'll have to give it a go and see I guess. I'm really tempted to just go and get a TT bike but I want to try to get up towards 250W first - going to have to do a lot of work over the next few months!

Your weight will be an advantage for hill climbs and SpoCo (undulating) time trials though. :D

Looking at the power outputs required for those kind of time trial times, unless you are extremely heavy you're W/Kg is probably more than 3 already! According to this:
http://www.cyclingpowerlab.com/cyclingpoweroutput.aspx

An 80kg rider would need 330W for a flat 23mins and 373W for 22

This is the power calculation on my Turbo though, which I know is nowhere near accurate, I'm about 72kg atm, so will be looking to drop that a bit, and up the power in my legs, current best TT time is 26.45 or so on my road bike, so the TT bike should help that drop down a chunk.

We have a time trial next week, 26.1km which is a bit of an odd distance!

Did it in 43.29 in Sept averaging 36.2kmh. I remember it being pretty calm weather wise and I paced myself really well then, but I'd like to try and take 90 seconds or so off that time.

That's cool, just thought I'd check in case you were worried why the numbers were low!

Does anyone else upload their rides to ridewithgps? I've just dumped a GPX from strava and then uploaded it at ridewithgps to see what it comes up with. It isn't really there in terms of segments - though I think that's mainly on account of people not using it so much and not setting segments up in the same way they do on Strava - but the analysis of your own performance is pretty good in terms of speeds, grades you were on at particular speeds, etc.

Didn't even know ridewithgps had segments tbh.

Use it to plan rides and have uploaded a couple, but mainly just use strava for recording rides.

Speaking of ridewithgps, just planned out a 42 mile ride on it and trying to get it on the garmin 500. Haven't been out since christmas and that was only a short ride. Just hoping it doesn't rain on me too much, heading back to newcastle on the weekend so want to get one last ride in down here while trying out the breadcrumb trail on the garmin at the same time.

Just need to see if I can stop in at the gf's for a cake stop :)

I somehow missed a bike path while planning on ridewithgps.. 4ish miles of mud and dirt.. Not the most fun I've had on my bike lol.

that is a bike path in this country :D

a bit of a shame isn't it.. would be ok with a hybrid or a mtb but with a roadie it was twitchy.. especially on muddy grass! :o got through it fine tho but my bike is a mess.. going to give it a good clean(again)

Had a look on the Rapha sale, most stuff is out of stock unless you are XS or XXL.

The pro team jersey and the team cross jersey are both still in stock in normal sizes, but still pretty expensive, double what a nice Castelli jersey would be for example.

Nah, I knew what I had ridden before and knew my turbo/trainerroad worked it out too low looking at my times, although I don't have a fan in the shed so this won't help me on the tougher tests, but like anything if I keep everything consistent I know I will be improving.

That's an impressive average, good work. :)

Splashed out on Strava Premium and will also be joining Trainer Road when I'm doing more turbo workouts than outside ones.

First ride with a HRM last night (fast group ride) and I averaged 169, peaked at 191. Is there a way I can work out what my max HR is? Turbo session perhaps?
