Anyone had issues getting TrainerRoad to work with a HRM? Got one in my Edge 800 bundle and thought I'd set it up out of curiosity more than anything. The Garmin recognises it with no issues.

Got the Polar strap here too, just struggling to get it to see the unit.

Haven't tried The Thumb but it looks like a fun one, just give it your best shot. 3x20mins at sweet spot tomorrow for me I think, did Monitor today (6x6mins at sweet spot).

Same here, mine is fine, paired up straight away to suunto stick.

Spent a bit of my day with a bike plugged into a laptop...certainly doesn't feel 'right'

Updated all the firmware but left multi-shift off for the customer.

Picked up my XLS from PlanetX in Sheffield yesterday and then rode back to Manchester. Quite a fun ride though some of the hills were painful. Also, coming down parts of the A6 in pitch black were not fun at all. We'd have managed to avoid the worst of that if PX hadn't delayed us by almost three hours due to messing up my friend's bike build :/

Today I cleaned the bike off and spent a long time faffing around to get full coverage mudguards on there despite the lack of any mudguard eyelets. A faff but not as much of one as I expected if I'm honest (please excuse the poor picture quality).

A good adventure that ride mate! Did you go snake pass or another route?

We all have to start somewhere pal. Getting out is the main thing!

Tbh the distance and such didn't really bother me. The climbing I struggled on simply due to lack of cardio endurance but I had plenty of strength left in my legs at the end of the ride.

My hands still ache today though from holding on for dear life whilst riding down the A6 in pitch black near Chapel-en-le-Frith.

I done that leg and back a few years ago when I went to a party in Brimington (leaving from Bolton). I do recall some steep drags and to top it off I fluked a weekend in April where it was scorching!

Great scenery and got some tan lines to boot.

Second in B Grade again!

More of a hilly route this week, had a break of 3 of us going up a CAT3. Worked together OK until the end of the race (44km and 500m climb, averaged 34.6kmh) which is an uncategorised climb of 800m with an average grade of 8%.

Little bit steeper than I like, the strongest rider stood on the pedals and attacked at the bottom, I followed sat down which was a mistake as it put me in the red and I felt like I was going to cramp. Eased off a bit but had done too much and although he gapped me by maybe 5-10 seconds it then stayed pretty stable. If I had stayed sat down and just ground it out then it would have been closer perhaps as I closed slightly towards the top.

Tough getting enough fluids into you in the heat as well as you can forget to drink while racing. I aim to have a drink at least every 10 minutes, using High5 Zero (two tablets) per 750ml.

Before then I'd tried an attack on the flat to try and tire the others out a bit by making them chase me, I can ride on my own easily so wanted 5-10 seconds head start for the climb if I could get it. It kind of worked as we dropped the guy who came third almost straight away, so he must have just been hanging on at that point.

It means I hit my target of riding over 200km for the third week in a row, going well up to now. Depending on the course I might see if I can hang onto A grade next week...

went to pick up bike from the service, and they didn't touch up the paint work :(

so I left it for them to sort out and told me all It required was gear cables and one side on the bottom bracket bearings, which they replaced

whilst I was there I dropped off my "2nd hand" S-Works Road Shoes for them to fix, said it will only cost about £40 - £50 ? so the shoes are costing me, wait for it.. £80 (these are £250 in the shop) Bargain ! :D
