nice, how much did that cost to respray?
Urgh. Sore point - personally.

So I know of a powdercoater up in Derby or something who have done a few frames on Retrobike and they come out immaculate. £30 for blasting and coating in a single solid colour which is a great price. I was going to get it done there but I had a bit of paint to use up and when I added postage both ways I thought I'd do it myself. Well I should have known better because I've painted a few frames and it's always a ballache and you always use way more paint than you think. Which I did. So it's got 3 coats of black and 3 coats of clear on top and a LOT of my time :D

Though to be fair, the local powdercoaters are over double that and I haven't seen their coating, plus with powdercoat I'd not be able to do the stripes because you can't lacquer powdercoat.

Anyone suggest a 3-4 day road bike ride roughly 60 miles a day ? We were meant to be doing London to Paris but for various reasons we have opted against it.

I'm based in York but could travel to a start point. Obvious one is C2C but one of us has done this already.

246 miles this week. I really thought I was going to hit 250 but I ran out of time to finish things off today. Gah :/

My target was only 200 so I'm still doing okay but it would have been nice to hit 250 :)

Seemed like a good idea this morning but not so much when I was halfway out. Was hoping that I would get more of a tailwind but seemed like the wind kept following me around everywhere :(

Still, at least I got another outing on the new bike - should really clean it now but way too knackered

Looks like a good route. You'll have to take me out that way some time.

Impressive effort!

I'm thinking of trying one of the Manchester wheelers café rides, next decent day we get.

Well done. Is 200 miles a week a long term target? I was tempted to go out yesterday and try to hit 400 but took the day off instead.

I'm not sure what my long-term target will be to be honest. I'd quite like for it to be 200 but that might not be possible to fit in around everything else. I definitely want to be over 150 each and every week - and when I get weekends free for riding I'd prefer to be closer to 250.

Is anyone here doing the Prudential RideLondon this year? I've been accepted but I don't know whether I can afford it really, travel and sleeping arrangements make it tricky.

Done to death no doubt but I need some bib shorts for the better weather. Got Castelli Velocissimo Bib Tights for the now/colder weather and very happy with them.

Any pointers for some bib shorts - most of the bib shorts from Castelli seem over £100 minimum.

dhb Aeron Pro Cycling Bib Short seem to get great reviews at reasonable price (£67)

Thoughts?

Bought some dhb Aeron Pro last week and wore them on Saturday.

Didn't think they had anything over and above the other, cheaper, shorts I have when I first put them on but they were still comfy 150 miles later.
