My bikes developed a clicking sound on the down stroke of my left peddle when pushing on. Does anyone have an idea of what might be the problem? It only happens when pushing on a bit or going up hill not when going a consistent speed on level ground. Cheers.

First thing I always check is the front mech cable, it may be hitting the crank arm/peddle :)

Lovely bike uniQ, I have the etape.

Thanks, they are lovely rides but I prefer carbon steeds now :(

Surprised my Ti hasn't sold, close to just keeping and putting in storage while I'm away. Gave her a mini service and slightly regretting going with a standard double and not a compact :(

that is, as I've said before a very good looking bike.. and If I had the asking money in my pocked I'd snap it of your hands! good luck selling it tho :o

Mine started doing that and then one of the bolts for the saddle rail clamp snapped in half :D

Could be almost anything though

I've had that... Ping ping ping ping ping wtf.

I was also once baffled by a really disturbing creaky squeaky noise until I realised it was the Velcro on my overshoes :p

I have one of these! Tightened up my chainring bolts today, and one was especially loose. Will see if it fixes it when I ride to work tomorrow.

I am not surprised after last weekends monster! I bet the change in pace was very welcoming ;)

I took part in the wiggle tour of the peak today, it was my toughest ride to date. Good day for it despite the wind. Also, forgot my gloves which was annoying and harsh on some of the road conditions.

Great effort there, that looks a tough route! Will have to steal the gpx off Wiggle and do it myself some time.

Fairly flat run for me this evening but i think I'm improving, slowly but surely!

https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?sadd...-MK2A5qM_g&t=h&dirflg=b&mra=ltm&z=13&lci=bike

google says 1hr 5 mins I took just under 1hr and a half. Longest run to date (thats not saying much though) Half way through my legs were ready to give up but got a second wind to do the return to Brechin.

EDIT

Will be on Strava on Monday when my gps arrives!

Decided to do this route again tonight and I went for it! Time to match the time suggested by Google maps so happy with that. Didn't meet a tractor in the middle of the road like last time and could take speed into certain parts which i didn't on Friday. Legs don't feel too bad either so really happy with tonights run :) * Still nothing compared to you guys though!

My legs are absolutely aching today. It wasn't a particular arduous route that I did yesterday - flat 46 miles at 16mph ish - so I'm wondering whether it's to do with changing how I ride i.e. upping my cadence and spinning a lot more. I guess that might do it?

New steed here. I bring you the Dreadnought...

16kg of WW2 era sports bike. 3 speed, Jack Lauterwasser bars and caliper brakes would have made this one of the fastest bikes money could buy back in the 40s :p

Least riding I've done in 'forevz' this week. Injured knee plus visit to Newcastle (like) at the weekend meant I only did 181 miles :/ I'll make up for it next week.

In this video, which one is you then like? :p

I went through leazes park on Saturday and wondered why there were 4 riot vans and about 20 coppers parked up on one of the fields sun bathing...

Guess they were waiting for you and your buddies :P

BTW has anyone else noticed now the summer is here loads of police are everywhere?

Even one of the paths along the river that must take about an hour on foot had a police officer out for a nice Saturday morning walk in the sun....

I've saw a few riot vans patrolling the local parks as well and they are tiny parks... you can do a lap on a bike in about 3 minutes.

cops just driving around eyeing up the sun bathers?

There was an EDL march at 1pm on Saturday? Good thing I had a shotgun in my hands at that time.

When I'm walking around town there's usually an abundance of police, but that's because I'm usually on foot in town at night :p

Haven't really noticed an increase though, it's a city, tend to see a couple of police cars whenever I go out the house. On a plus side they're usually the most behaved vehicles when stuck behind me on the bike.

Yea I would have assumed it was a match day but all the fans didn't invade the parking spaces where I live so wondered what was going on.

I might pop down to start cycles later and see what bikes they have but seeing as their website only goes up to 56cm for most bikes I'm not expecting much...

I thought it was just a little crappy area of start fitness dedicated to bikes and I've even been in there before but saw on another forum saying there's multiple floors of bikes

I also need to start riding up where you do sometime soon.
I've had a route plotted out and on my garmin since last year but never bothered to do it yet for some reason

I'm not keen on riding up the great north road though, is there a shared cycle path down the side all the way up like near the part that runs along side the moor?
