These were my thoughts exactly, the weight saving are negligible when you're a veritable lump like me [84kgs].

Also, 3 punctures in the front wheel in 3 days with the new wheels, I think its the tyre though as the back wheel has been fine. Very annoying though, especially as the pro4's in black 25mm are out of stock on wiggle. Will have to wait until I'm back from Sziget.

The punctures aren't on the inside of the tube, are they? It could be the rim tape is skewiff, leaving a spoke exposed, which could pop a tube.

Decided to take a proper look at it when I got home, there was a tiny piece of glass in the rubber that you could only see when looking very closely, it was re-puncturing the tire in the same spot. Removed so hopefully sorted. Still think new tyres are in order as these have quite a few rips in now

Cycling rant. Don't slow down and ask someone if they need help fixing a puncture if you have headphones in.

Altho we know this doesn't apply to us roadies in here.

I've changed my mind so many times.

I even considered my Gabba. Taking my race cape but I think I'll be wearing my Gabba Fawesome gillet if it's terrible. What bike are you riding?

I'll be on the Cervelo with a couple of bottles behind the saddle.

Riding the Cinelli.

I was thinking s/s Gabba with THT jersey on top. Could end up being too warm though?

Alternative is just the THT jersey with nanoflex arm warmers and race cape in my pocket.

Bloody weather!

does anyone know the nut type/size that id need if I were to put on onto a threaded C02 cartridge?

I have a waterbottle cage which is threaded to hold a co2 cartridge but when I cycle it loosens and falls off. was going to put a nut on the other side to stop if falling out.

put some tape over the threads obviously not cello tape something a bit more durable that wont tear but will give a slightly tighter fit.

Gonna go for a 10 mile or so ride along a cycle path near here with my brother (old railway line converted so fairly smooth but still a mud/rock track basically). So I've had the MTBs out the shed to pump tyres up and check they're working alright as they've not been used for a good few years.

Wow are they heavy! Felt like I'd just got a new carbon bike when I picked my road bike up at the end, guessing they must be nearing 25kg.

At least being an old railway line it's almost completely flat and I'll only be bimbling along at 10-15mph so full suspension and fat tyres wins for comfort.

Serious question do they still do cycling proficiency at school?

This came up in discussion today... My kids' school does it, but that's no guarantee that all of them do it, as it's quite a decent school. They call it "bikeability" or something nowadays. Apparently in year 4 (8/9 years old) they do some theory and riding in the playground, and in year 6 (10/11) they do actual on road riding. They also do some bike maintenance and stuff. I'll be interested to see how it works out, though all being well I'll be teaching my kids all this and more and getting them out and about with me.

Although I'm glad you're ok you can't lay all the blame on the car, what was she meant to do ignore the person using the crossing? I'd be grateful you got off realtivley unscathed.

My crash was only 2 mph faster and look how I ended up

It's their fault for pulling out in front of me, not stopping, that just caused the collision. It's a busy zebra crossing for commuters and I've cycled the same route every day for 4 years so.

I see loads of little kids riding tiny bikes with their parents where I live, on the routes I see them they must be doing a good 10 miles or so.
It's amazing they are up to it at such a young age

Had a social ride this morning, started off 2c and freezing fog for an hour or so at 8am, I was cold and pretty miserable until it blew away, the fog was turning to ice and snow on my jersey. :(

Just under 80km but pretty good tempo, smashed a few short climbs and waited for the other guys at the top. Ones training for Kona and the other guys been off the bike for a couple of months and only just started racing again.

Followed up with a nice coffee and raspberry and pear loaf with fruit and honey sat in the sun at the cafe after. Turned into a fab winters day and I feel better for it!

It is absolutely chucking it down here on the outskirts of Surrey. Came on to post something like hope you don't get too soaked, but I think it's inevitable.

Was out in Docklands yesterday and the Belkin boys came past in the other direction on the cycle path while we were waking over the A13 at Canning Town. I think they could tell I knew they weren't joe public and gave me a nod back when I nodded to them. Then a bit further along I saw the team with the green splat logo but I can't remember what they're called. Was with non cyclists so my excitement was kind of lost on them :(

Anyway, hope the ride isn't too horrible for anyone taking part.

I came into the office to work seeing as it was so bloody miserable outside. Now the rain has gone off, judging by the met office will stay away from Glasgow for the next couple of hours, and I'm stuck here working. Poor decisions today.

Started looking towards winter training and have a small Budget of £600 for a winter bike. I would like to go off road a bit this winter so the boardman Cx comp is top of my list unless anyone can find anything else around that price?

Anyone Have any thoughts on the boardman? Cheers.
