Aha... you must live somewhere other than London. I was kinda annoyed to do a 90 mile ride on Saturday and have 40 miles of that only accumulate about 400ft. (the route out to Surrey and back)

I was almost tempted to drive out to start and save the energy for more hills.

More than welcome to meet me in Marlow and start the climbing there! Haha. Although, I need to get my legs back, so will have to be a few weeks.

The Rocky Mountains do have a little more vert :D

Cool. I'm up for less climby rides too now that the challenge is over. I think I would have easily achieved it through regular riding if I hadn't had 9 days off cycling in the middle of the month. Only 6000m required for June's so should be able to tone it down a tad :D

Just a tad!

This was earlier than I expected : SRAM HydroHC (eTAP) disc brakes

Available from October

Hydraulic brakes with electronic shifting makes so much sense from a design point of view. Will never be in my price range unfortunately.

That doesn't sound ideal Roady. You have to go back 24 hours to identify the culprit for a dose of food poisoning though. Whenever I fly it seems to take a couple of days for my weight to stabilise. Not sure if it is dehydration or being out of sync with my meals as I don't eat on planes.

That is very fast! How are people with eTap finding the experience? I know Bear has it.

I like it, if only you could change the gear change speed like you can with Di2 then it would be great. I love the quick snappy changes with Di2 but the tactile changes with etap. If etap had the snappy changes of Di2 it would be perfect as I love the lack of extra cables, so the bike looks very tidy.

I have been debating whether to start an Italian build and use EPS but think it may be a bit silly. :D

Not sure if anyone is doing Tour of Cambridgeshire at the weekend, but I'll be riding the TT course on the Friday and will be having a post race beer on the Saturday in the local area. (first for 7 weeks could be interesting :P)

I was tempted for the Gran Fondo but wasn't quite so tempted when I read £68 especially after doing Velothon the other week. Maybe next year!

If anyone thinks of doing an Everesting - don't! It's brutal. We made it though and raised £4K for my friends charity. Can wear the grey stipe with pride now :D

Awesome! Congrats

If I were to ever be mad enough to Everest anything, from what I've explored so far this would be the segment: (ignore the double digits glitch 1.2m in) Steady 4-8% all the way to the top :)

No thanks Jeff:

I'm slow and steady so 4-8% worked for me. It's a fun challenge - make sure you have piles of support both roadside and to ride with you. Can't imagine doing 18% ramps 134 times!
