When's good? I'm open for whenever really, though was thinking 11AM or so as latest. Ping me your number in trust.

hey, should be free for the cycle tomorrow, can get to RP for 10:30-11am. A work mate wants to come along as well if it's cool, lives beside RP.

I'm cycling about 25kmh solo so if you up the pace I'll just hide behind you :p

Great! Do you want to drop your number to me in trust too? I've never actually been on a group ride (though I may have drafted/been drafted in RP quite a few times!) and not the fastest of cyclists so should be fine.

Will do as soon as I get home! :) 10-11 is good with me!

on that note, anyone else up for a ride tomorrow? shamrock? shoosh? asprilla?

can't remember if it does but does garmin allow to follow a route from a certain point(aka RP)? as I'd like to load that route up on my garmin! :)

Great. I'm still cheaping out on a Sigma Rox 10 and pretty sure that is capable of picking up part way along a route so I'd be surprised if your Garmin can't!

Yeah, you can plan a route on ridewithgps or bikeroutetoaster or whatever and then download it to your Garmin and you can run it as a course.

Typical. Leave work thinking I'm not going to get my winter tyres from Ribble before the weekend... see a Royal mail van pulling in to the business park as I leave and just thought it's unlikely to be mine. Get home and receive email from internal mail that a package arrived.

Rear lights run at lower lumens so you'd expect a higher battery life out of almost any of them compared to a front light.

Meh, I read it as rear

My mrs uses the Aldi lights so fairly familiar with the non-USB's, we usually find the light fails (water gets in) before the batteries finally give up the ghost (after several months of use). Aldi replace the light under warranty no questions asked (providing you keep the receipt) which includes a new set of batteries... She's on her 3rd!

All replaced under warranty!

A heads up anyone who's still after a home service/maintenance stand (and all the good ones are horribly expensive), the Jobsworth I have is currently on sale for £40 today only (half price) - http://www.planetx.co.uk/deals

I rate it, maybe not stable enough for some hardcore home maintenance over a fleet of bikes but more than stable and sturdy enough for most people. Only thing it's really missing is a bits tray thing.

About to commute home, very breezy and overcast here so really easy one for me... No group ride tomorrow as the better half is off work so I finally get a lie in on a saturday (I don't work them but she works 3 out of 4). Still have grand plans on conquering my nemesis (climb I walked in a sportive a month ago) but sorting my mudguards is also high on my priorities. I'll document it but to give you an idea: New giant speedshield guards (matt black) using sks raceblade fittings (best for lowest noise & clearance) on mudguard mounts with part of crud roadracers fitted by the chainset (to cover some of it from road grime/spray). Some real zombie/frankin-guards! :D

Are people talking about the Moon Comet clone lights from Aldi? If so that is inline with what my Moon offers in terms of run time. Not an issue for me but if I commuted that would probably get old quickly!

Yeah. I swapped it out for a pretty basic Smart front light that required 2xAA. Used to run that thing on flash for months worth of cycling but the Aldi thing is much brighter and smaller :)

Started building the new bike before heading to the pub, and got the di2 groupset built up.. Switching gears, even without a chain on, gave me such a grin! The front mech sounds amazing :p

Stumbled upon a truck that had an audible left turn indicator earlier. "Caution. Truck turning left". Quite a good idea to warn those cyclists that do go up the inside!

Popped out for a quick 20 miles loop this morning - planned to head to Artists and shake off the hangover. Quickly realised that wasn't happening and instead went on a flat 10 miles loop, getting gradually slower and slower as all the after effects from last night manifested at once. Fun ride :p

Hopefully after a coffee and a shower I'll start to feel pretty human again though. I'll need all my strength if I'm to get through the 4.5kg of brisket I've got BBQing...

Not managed to get out as I've been looking after the kids half this week, which is a pain. Wife is away.
Evans got back to me after me losing my rag with them having not received my catseye 700 yet. Low and behold, they can't get it as they're out of stock and it's discontinued. I got them to give me a 800 for the same price though, which is something I suppose.
