My new bike has LEDs built into the front of the frame. I assume they're running from my Di2 battery. Someone at work has decided it would be fun to turn them on whilst I'm in the office, repeatedly . The bike shed is also the designated smoker's area, so could be anyone.

Just a bit scared I'll turn out and it'll be out of juice :/ Wonder if I can disable the LEDs.

To be honest I'm feeling even more ill than yesterday so perhaps turbo wouldn't have been a great idea anyhow...

Kill or cure! Although there's tons of illness going around here the last few days and I developed a sniffle after the rain... I immediately started on the 'flu tablets' (tesco 59p a pack, 2 in the morning, 2 in the afternoon) and it seems to have shifted/stopped/delayed it. I did this last winter when starting to get the symptoms and it seemed to work so will do the same this year... My increase in fitness and high levels of fruit/veg diet has meant I miss 70%+ of the flu/illness that go around my office...

True, but it doesnt really matter if you dont know what the company does as long as you remember the name.

Mapei, for example, make building supplies.

I've always used Mapei products as a builder friend recommended them. I remember the Mapei kit/colours from years ago (watching the tour when young) but I only recently relinked the two when I saw the retro kit on prendas!

It's great marketing really, you see all these guys with their kit plastered in logo's, but what gets me is so many of them 'sponsored' by someone like Oakley, quite clever really, they could probably afford to sponsor a whole team, but they don't. They sponsor ~80% of the teams and get coverage regardless who's on screen.

Scary, but after what I've heard of Di2 I would be very surprised if you cannot disable them or add some kinda idle-timeout on them! :)

What do they do on the bike?

I'd start with a note over the switch saying "Please stop ******** with my bike. Thanks."

My S/H bargain arrived... A 2013 Fizik Arione R3 for £25... Bought with a 'scuff' on the right edge (where I'm likely to scuff it leaning it in my garage). Turns up barely a scuff with no other signs of wear! Result! Bargain! :D

Always wise to listen to your body.

Strongman in the gym yesterday 'Can't seem to shake this cold, now it's gone quite chesty. Oh well, comp in 4 weeks can't afford not to train'. But you can afford to dig yourself in to a hole and prolong the cold and perform sub optimally

I welcome rest days with open arms ;)

Chugging like an absolute champ on today's session. Relatively punishing with an accurate FTP. HR was gradually increasing at the end of every recovery phase so I was more and more ****** the further in I got. Still soldiered through. Good to see that I moved from my LTHR 160-165 to just bordering on Anaerobic by the end 170+.

Drive side away.
Little ring.
IS THAT AN **** SAVER?

You'll be lucky to make it out of here alive after that.....

:P cool pic, love the colour of the leaves. I love this time of year purely for the red/orange/yellow landscapes, it is stunning. Everything else about this time of year is crap, but it looks pretty :)

Had my first wattbike session tonight. Just did 3 x 10m efforts, which were harder than any recent ride I've done. Averaged 200W. Am I feeble? I'm probably feeble.

You're absolutely right :) I spent most of the afternoon dozing in bed instead. Still not feeling 100% but definitely better. Going to avoid work tomorrow but if I feel up for it in the evening I'm not ruling out some turbo work :p

It's all relative, what do you weigh?

For someone like myself, I've been riding just under a year but coming from a powerlifting/bodybuilding and pretty active background, my 10 minute power PR from TrainerRoad is 356W at 81KG. I usually find I'm in the top 1/4 or 1/3rd of segments on Strava and ride an average of 16-17mph with fair amounts of climbing.

If you're a 50KG featherweight then that's 4w/kg which isn't as poor as you might think. But if you're a 100KG lump then that's 2w/kg which does leave room for improvement :p

If you're completely unconditioned and come from a sedentary background then I wouldn't worry and just be patient as the adaptations happen :)

Always best to rest with anything more significant than a superficial head-cold or grogginess.

Weather caught me out today, said overcast for Birmingham, ended up being a shower for 5 mins the second I got to the top of the road.

Think I'm just going to get leg warmers and overshoes on as normal as It's too hard to judge! (Also means I only have my waterproof packable with me today).

I'm a 91kg (was 96kg about a month or two ago) lump, with (aside from about 0.5 rides per year for the past 10+ years until the end of this July... in fact I've not really been properly active since 1999 :()
I work in an office, sat down all day and have done since I graduated... and basically haven't done any exercise since Uni.

Definitely room for improvement.

Wattbikes are not necessarily that accurate so don't expect to switch between different ones and get repeatable data. I doubt many gyms make the effort to get them calibrated. This means your actual numbers could be a fair bit better (or worse) than that, so don't put too much stock in them much like virtual power numbers. Just use it as a way to track progress.

One from the other day, really enjoyed the climb where the photo was taken! Nothing mental just a lovely place to cycle :D

Bike looks great & so does location! What wheels are those? Don't look like Cannondale?

Lol! Although remember - we do have standards to maintain! ;)

Not sure if using photograph as cover for needing a rest mid-climb :p

Perfect excuse! As is posing for selfie's at the top...?

You're similar to me, although I started earlier (although more gradual)...! I was north of 15 stone (95kg+) in spring/summer 2013 when I started cycling my work commute on a hybrid, hadn't ridden a bike for 16-17 years and hadn't been very active for ~8-10. I got my first road bike in late 2013 and didn't really get into leisure riding until December 2014 when I got my Defy... I'm now 89kg and long overdue an FTP test...! ;)

If you continue you'll still see big improvements, I am still.

Edit: my earliest activity on Strava is Oct 2013 on my Hybrid.
