Marshall or pace car messed up and the split went a different way at the end of the race. They were all in the same race but heading straight for each other! Madness

Got this cool pic tonight at the Rouleur Classic in London.

Does anyone ride with a phone holder?
I just put one on the bike and repurposed an old Note2 as a strava/entertainment system :) Are there any custom skins/apps for android to totally repurposed the phone? I know there are ones for in-car systems, but not sure on bike specific stuff?

...and now these SKS RBL's. The RBL's are the best fit by far, better coverage than the Crud's and similar to all the others. Also the best for noise reduction. I have experienced some rubbing but some of my problems are solved in the mk2's and the rest is fit which you will have with any guards on this frame (Cruds rubbed tyres at bridges more).

Do you have any pics of your bike with the RBL's fitted?

Great pic! Merckx and...?

That is insane! Crazy they reach the line at the same time too! Do we know if the riders survived? Combined head on speeds of probably 2x40 or more MPH?! Marshall/pace car need some serious talking with police as there was obviously something very wrong with their organisation/race plan!

Not that recent, but this was after wheel change:

Note: I've changed quite a lot since then (pic is dated May) - lost the front guard from front wheel (flew off!) and taken the end flaps off to stop some tyre rub.

I done the FTP test on Zwift last night using the free 50kms. Im not really sure how im supposed to use this program tho. I thought it best to get my FTP done first but after that im not sure what you are supposed to do, I thought it was like a virtual race? i saw the option of workouts or free ride but how do you race?

Good ride in to work this morning. A bit chilly to start but fine once I got moving. Slightly less traffic so could make a bit more progress. Think I averaged over 15mph which is rare for my ride in.

It's more of a virtual world that you ride in, or a circuit that you ride around... Other people are riding so ride with/against them if you want (or do your own thing). There's segments (unsure if Strava Live segments work with them?) along with sprints/climbs you can 'race' on (as they have live leaderboards which I believe 'reset' every hour). There are organised rides (and I think races?) which you can find info about online (think there are calendars to show you when/where etc). But it's not a race/thing you load and then race, it's more an online course you connect to and then ride how you want.

It's not like TR/Sufferfest/etc that you 'start' and 'stop', the virtual worlds are just there for you to ride in regardless of what you are aiming to do.

Only Fabian Cancellara aka "Spartacus", one of the greatest time trialists and classics riders ever.

Didn't recognise him without a helmet on and don't think I've seen him smile before... ;)

Fabian Cancellara, who looks like Robert Pires:D

Robert who? Oh %football%, don't do/get that

cool thanks, nice looking bike!

trying to find the cheapest place for them.

are these them?

Thanks! That's it clean... Doesn't look that flashy most of the time lol! ;)

Those are the V2 (mine are the V1), they have 'updated' parts (better bridge clearance & fixed flaps, both problems I've found/fixed with my V1's).

Struggling to setup my FD properly. I did have it shifting up and down but noticed the chain rubbed on the cage when I was on the small ring in the back and big in the front, did a bit of fiddling now it won't shift from small to big! GAH!

Here's my process

1. Put chain on big ring at the rear.
2. Take out shifter cable from clamp
3. Check gap between front of FD and top of big ring is about 1-2mm
4. Check FD is parallel to big chain ring.
5. Adjust low limit FD screw to 1-2mm gap off the chain
6. Pull some tension in to shifter cable and re-clamp.
7. Pedal and attempt to shift up.

However it just pushes the chain and doesn't shift up! :(

There's either not enough tension in the cable or the high limit screw needs to be adjusted to allow the cage to move outwards. If you shift up (as if you're moving to the big ring) and pull the front mech cable, if the front mech continues moving outwards then you haven't got enough tension in the cable.

If the front mech doesn't move outwards then you will need to adjust the high limit screw and ensure there is enough tension in the cable to move the front mech across the full range of motion.

The trick is to give the mech enough outward movement to shift up efficiently without dropping the chain. This will take some trial and error.

Looks parallel enough - did warn you it needs a lot of fiddling :D

It needs to overshift a little bit to get it up onto the big ring, so the limit screw needs to be a little further out, almost to the point that it throws the chain off. The cage will rub the chain on the limit screw, so you then back it off a bit using the shifter when you're riding. I don't know if this is the correct way or not, but it's the only way I've managed to get them to work properly. It's even worse with Biopace rings which aren't round :D

This is really where indexed shifters transformed shifting, because you pull the lever all the way to the derailleur limit screw, it shifts, then the lever drops back onto the index point when you let go of it and it centres the derailleur on the chain for you. Might be worth looking for a pair of Shimano SIS shifters if you don't mind losing the Campag ones.

Edit: don't forget once it's clamped up, you can give the cage a tweak to bend it into line if it's just a tiny bit out. Won't do it any harm at all and saves all the messing around with the clamp, cable and limit screws!

Yeah I'm going cross eyed trying to tell if it's parallel or not :p

setting up front derraileurs with friction shifters is much easier than an indexed one

just set the inner limit so it doesnt touch the chain in 1st gear, and the outer so it doesnt touch in 22nd gear, tension the cable to allow the full range of motion needed, and then just put the lever wherever it needs to be for a given gear

indexed front front shifting is silly.
