Does anyone else get a lot of dry skin around and underneath their eyes from sweating? What do you do about it? I'm looking borderline leprosy at the moment.
I get some, usually on my cheekbones and below, my skin can even hurt (and goes bright red - like Noddy!) from the windchill this time of year so I cover up as much as possible. Cycling cap, eye wear & a '
neck gaiter/buff' pulled up under my nose and over my ears so also covers much of my cheeks.
I put some moisturiser over my whole face after shaving in the morning (after a shower) and that seems to stop it getting too bad. Nivea or a brand called 'Bulldog' I've found best for cheapness/ease/availaibility. I looked into outdoor cremes for protecting my skin but they were expensive so thought I'd try normal moisturiser first.
I tried some Privateers while looking for mine. Seemed very nice but I really needed a half size to fit well (I have weird feet, must have tried about 15-20 cycling shoes...). With Wiggle I'd just order a few sizes and send the rest back
See my feet are almost a perfect 42, I've been able to squeeze in 41's and worn 43's before now with thick socks so don't think I need a half size. Treble II's ordered!
I find the audio 10x better, like literally if I mumble anything, you can hear it nice and clear.. ! battery life is the only - with go pro, lasts up to 1:20ish before it needs charging.. not that my commute is any longer and the plan was to use it for sole purpose of "commuting/videos from commute"
on a different note, I need new shades.. something for £30ish quid, something that wont fog up is my main requirement!
That short a battery life would annoy me, even with my short commute! You must need to charge it after every commute?! I bought an extra battery and the standalone charger for my VIRB, works great & charges 2 or 3 times quicker (less than 2 hours) than plugging the VIRB in to USB. The audio on the VIRB is pretty terrible, mine is useless and only has the vibration/braking/pothole noises, can't even hear vehicles on it most of the time...!
I'm still rocking my
DHB triple lenses for commuting with, also have some of the chinese ladarlock's which are a similar price from aliexpress with 3 lenses. I find both comfortable but the lenses with my DHB's are more scratched so keep them for commuting. I'm using the
Muck-off anti-fog and it works well, do have to apply it every 1.5-2 weeks though. Guy at my LBS who races XC swears by a 'finger dab' of some washing up liquid in a 'cap' of water before every race, certainly seems cheaper than the muck off!
I don't know if its just me, but I'm seeing a lot more commuter cyclists out and about.
Seems to be a few more, I'd normally see 4-6 on my commutes and now it's more 8-10. Had noticed the increase even last year as traffic around the city has got more congested over the last 12 months. Whenever I drive my commute now (morning or night) it's never quicker than taking the bike, I used to get to work in 10 mins in the morning, it's now closer to 20. Journey home was always 30 mins, sometimes up to an hour, now it's more 45mins minimum. Bike is 15-20 mins each way depending on traffic, weathers & lights.
Awesome bike bell review!
Anyone with 3/8" torque wrench recommendations without spending a small fortune? I have a smaller
Xtools 1/4" which only goes up to 24NM and I ideally need a bigger one that'll do bigger stuff like crank arms (think I saw 40Nm on something on my old ride?!). Don't want to spend more than £50/60. I'm taking advantage of the CRC sale (£10 off when you spend £75) to pickup some tools & spares...
