Back home. I am depressed, although I can't wait for my stomach to return to normal, far too much air coming out the wrong end the last few days.

This is one of the reasons I no longer ride in sportives in general. Way too expensive for often no real reason. I get why people want to do them, but not at the prices they often charge for open road riding.

One I am considering as an exception is this because all proceeds go to charity, it isn't silly expensive, you get breakfast, feed stations, energy food/drink, parking, photography and it's in a beautiful area with some real challenging climbs.

when I had trp spyres I often found it easier to reseat the calipers after reseating the wheel rather than trying to get the wheel perfect!

no such issues since moving to shimano hydro :)

Browsing for a couple of events to enter this summer & I'm shocked at the prices.
This years Warwickshire 100 in July is £38. Wouldn't mind if it was a closed road affair, but no nothing special IMO.

Sportives are getting outrageous tbh. A 50 mile TT costs about a tenner to enter, will likely have a better route and marshals at every junction, plus the money actually goes back to clubs. Audaxes are the same principle.

Evans run quite a few and they are normally £25

Wiggle also run quite a few. Not sure on price though.

Makes the LBL sportive a pretty decent deal too! Sadly it's not closed roads (a shame as the pro race is the next day) but there is timing, feed stations, massage at the end. And it's all run by ASO.

So my cheapo Chinese seatpost doesn't fit my frame properly. It inserts ok down to about the 7 mark but is too anug after that. Has anyone had a similar issue? Seller is offering a refund but I'm reluctant to buy from him again, so recommendations appreciated.

That sucks :/

I've had two (well, three including RMA replacement) Chinese carbon seat posts with no such issues. Unlucky.

is it longer than your old post? some frames are only "right size" down to a certain depth
