And as remarked by another cyclist I met last weekend with Vonhelmet, they have the loudest freehubs in the world!

Did you find the new wheels made much of a difference?

I can only comment when I put them on my old Orbea , it made a world of difference. Hold the speed and climb miles better.

I'm not the lightest rider so figured I'd go the handbuilt route so they can be serviceable.

Overall really pleased with them , done about 2000 miles on them now

I'd probably get the RT-58 with Tiagra and upgrade to 105 at a later point.

Bugger all wrong with Tiagra - had it on my Caad8 for 18 months now - reliable, easy to index, just works. Might not be as smooth as 105 etc but i can't see spending the money from Tiagra to 105 upgrade would be that advantageous.

Hmmm on the canyon lead times , it does reckon CW24 (whatever cw is - customer wait?), 24 days or 24 weeks?

If the former fine, if the latter... Well... I need alternative suggestions :(.

A VERY enjoyable ride today. Despite the rain and the wind. I took a big dose of Rule #5 and got out. Brilliant.

It was a chance to give some Dexshell waterproof gloves I bought at the Bike Expo last week a try. Amazing. Kept the water out for the majority of the ride. When they finally did start to seep water in, they were very toasty.

My Dexshell waterproof socks from Aldi were also excellent. Again, they did begin to seep water, but they kept everything warm.

The standard of driving today was atrocious. There were around 5 hairy incidents with more close passes. I got most on camera except the last two, the worst.

My Virb suffered from the same battery problem as it did on it's maiden voyage. At 1/2 battery the thing died, and when turned back on it would simply shut down again. I've just plugged it into my PC and it displays as 1/2 battery and stays on...

Anyway, because of this it missed the two worst incidents. A suped up Impreza passed very close when approaching a set of lights. We gesticulated to express our concern when the guy proceeded slam the brakes on to stop in the middle of the road. We paused momentarily, and when we tried to pass he swerved into us. He then 'floored' it 10m to the red lights where he got out of the car and started giving all that. "Why do you lot always take up the whole road". At no point could that statement be backed up by any of our actions...

The second incident was the standard 'Getting pulled out on at at roundabout' scenario. I had to drop the anchors and came within 1ft of smashing into their rear end.

But hey! A great 55 miles in the moist conditions, I felt drained towards the end. But very pleased.

How has everyone else got on?
Does anyone have any ideas regarding my Virb battery?

I believe it means calendar week so CW24 is the week commencing June 8, 2015.

My lot went out this morning and headed up a very exposed cat 3. On the way down one guy punctured twice in rapid succession from hitting potholes. He managed to bend the rim on one of the wheels on his brand new Synapse Disc. Gutted.
