A guy I work with has a pair of northwave boots with gotetex which are supposed to be super waterproof. They cost like £120 or something!

Are they waterproof? Can you ask him? That's not bad for goretex. Found some that cost about 2x that :(

Quiet weekend for me apart from getting the turbo out. Who knew, the only thing worse than a 20 minute test is doing the 20 minute test on a TT bike! Estimated FTP of 252w which correlates well with my last 25mi TT (avg of 251w for almost exactly an hour). I guess positives to take from that are I'm in similar form to where I was at the end of summer despite not riding the TT bike in a couple of months and road FTP usually tends to be a bit higher than turbo. Pretty happy with that.

I've got a 10 mile TT in December so that'll be next opportunity to see road power as I reckon all my TT bike training will be turbo based till then. I'm hoping training in position will help me narrow the 25w(ish) gap between TT and road position - I feel like there could be some easy gains to make there.

I have some Sidi gore-tex shoes that are also fairly waterproof. They suffer from the same issue all waterproof shoes/overshoes do though - rain can get in through the leg gap.

They're nice and toasty warm after using my summer shoes in cack weather for the past few months though :)

Don't think I've ever gotten water in my Sidi Winterboots. Do you tape the boot up over your leggings? Or the other way round?

Shorts fo lyfe. Well, not really - but today I'm in shorts so as much as I try to tape my leg hair down over them and as profuse as it is, it sadly doesn't do the job :(

I've actually only had these shoes for a while (well, got them a while ago but waited for winter) so I've not got round to trying them with leggings. Most leggings I've got wouldn't go over them either I think. Ideally I'd like some that I can wear normally but with a little ballerina skirt at the bottom that I could strap over my shoes.

Ah right, I always put my leggings over my boots and the water just runs off them. I don't wear shorts in winter ;).

I literally just today received some replacement leggings. My old ones are teh suq :)

Also, it's not technically winter yet ;)

Leg hair.

OUT.

I am tempted to shave it all off but it's so much hassle. Maybe for next summer.

Anyone know of another seller than Superstar Components doing the Garmin Edge/Virb/Gopro mount? Superstar Components are out of stock and not giving a particularly precise ETA...

We have an estimated delivery date for the Garmin Mounts and Garmin GoPro Mount in Winter 2015

I'm a big fan of Lezyne lights and mini pumps but I have to say the new mounting strap for their front lights really sucks.

don't like that at all
I don't even like the mount I have for my macrodrive, I have to keep moving it to the correct position, especially when I have to take the light off, the bracket is all rubber so it moves away from the bars and rotates around the bar :(

New install of Windows and trying to do a turbo session - I've been messing around with the InRide for the past 5 minutes though. Such a pain in the arse to set up.

Need some help re-assembling my headset (removed by the shop who sprayed the bike). I'm getting confused by the order of components

First of all here's the fork (note the groove)

Next the bottom of the fork tube, I at least know where this part of the headset goes

gVxbCFV.jpg

Now from the bottom of the fork to the top of the fork (I believe the lower three are for the bottom of the fork and the rest the top)

Zgkptpi.jpg

The crown race? (If it is I thought this was supposed to be right at the bottom, but thanks to the groove in fork shown above it won't go past the end of the groove)

And lastly from the top to the bottom

I must be getting this wrong as the fork barely seems to pop out of the top of the frame meaning the threads in the top of the top parts of the headset can't get a grip on the threads on the fork.
