no not at all Roady, I've not been increasing at all, just that today I went a different way, it ended up being a mile or two more that is all

back to the round the village route I think, no cars that way, and its nearly 10 miles, that's plenty for now

Right, chain cleaners. I have one. It cleans my chain and this is a fine thing. However, I am running out of the Park Tool liquid that came with it, and that stuff must be made of unicorn wee or something because it costs eleventy billion pounds. What do I use instead? Some people say you can use washing up liquid, but others say that has salt in and will make your chain disintegrate. Others say car shampoo. Others say to buy a gallon of degreaser from halfords and use that.

Any thoughts?

Any citrus degreaser would be my choice. Washing up liquids are packed with salt (to make your glasses shine) so I'd avoid them.

Hhahaa. Sorry I'm a rapha prostitute. Altho most of it is going back. Just got few different sizes and colours. Only keeping 2 jerseys and 1 pair of shorts out of that lot.

Pa.i wore castelli leg warmers, aero bib shorts, gabba and squadra jacket today. Does that bail me out?

Also after rapha repaired my shorts it does soften the blow of the initial outlay.

If you don't want to wear your kit you won't go out riding! My rapha shorts are by far the comfiest I have. Ohwell different strokes and all that, I've had a year of scrimping so thought I'd treat myself.

Had a proper angry ride today, full of cold, got overtaken by a hybrid rider, who I then couldn't even be bothered to sit on his wheel, then some tanker in a gravel carrying lorry decided to try to overtake me firstly on a roundabout then secondly whilst I was overtaking a bus who had stopped to pick up passengers and then gave me a toot like I was in the wrong. Hope I shift this bloody thing before tomorrow.

I've acquired various bits of Rapha and Assos kit over the years (very, very rarely at full price though - the Rapha eBay shop and Assos factory outlet are both good). My Assos shorts are two years old now and still look and work like new (and have been back to Assos for a free repair after I crashed in them).

I'm not a fan of Rapha shorts as I don't seem to get on with them, but the jerseys and gloves I have from them have been great too. I can't fault the resale value either as just sold a jersey for £25 that I bought for ~£35 and wore for 2 years!
