The trick with the Endurance bikes is they are designed to not beat you up. So you can do a 200+km ride and not feel battered. Makes them feel a bit remote or less direct than the racy stuff. Should isolate some of the bumps n hits.
Agreed.
Yeah, the Bianchi XR3/4 has 'Counterveil' which is some kinda elastomer in some of the carbon layup which flexes so the whole frame absorbs vibration, while still remaining stiff. The Specialized Roubaix has a 'Future Shock' decoupler at the headset which takes the sting out of shocks and absorbs vibration, also has a 'zertz' damper on the CG-R seattube (same setup as the Diverge). The Defy, Infinito and Synapse just have more relaxed geometries. So does the Wessex I think?
The Foil, XR3, Roubaix, Tarmac and Addict will all be firmer rides as they're race machines. Geometries will not be as relaxed as the others, but they'll be 'quicker' and as more race orientated will steer more direct, maybe even feeling twitchy in comparison. The Addict is more of a lightweight climbing bike than the others too, so you may even find that stiffer/harsh on rough surfaces.
If it was me I'd be choosing between the Tarmac Disc, XR3 and Foil (in that order if budget wasn't a concern). But then I already have 2 'endurance' style bikes.
Me on the Stratford CFC going for the double overtake
Great pic! You always seem to find the good photographers! Great game face too, mine looks like I'm chewing wasps
Yeah, it would be more sensical to warranty them by hours usage. Then we would be complaining about that instead being so low
Bearing information is 'proprietary' and not readily available.
Each pedal has 3 sets, 2 needle & 1 cartridge. I don't fancy taking apart a working pedal to try and save a few bob with such significant downside.
Yeah, same for much of our equipment - usage & conditions matter far more than distance & age!
Thinking about it now, it's not surprising they keep the bearings under their control as it keeps them in future business. Although that's a good thing as it adds value to older PWM's as they become less 'disposable', like everything else electronic seems to be!
Good work with the seatpost, I've got an extra vibration kinda noise starting somewhere towards the front of mine. Sounds like headset but I'll bet it's the camera cradle as it's mounted inverted so carries the weight of the camera against the mechanism (which is only plastic). Might have to consider retiring my 5 year old VIRB, but it's still working well.
Nice move. Mind you, he'll beast you on the pull-ups at the top!
Haha, is it me or does the other guy look a bit like Mat Hayman?
Three different chain gangs in three nights for me. Tonight was rapid as the wind was behind us on the way out, I looked at the speed at one point whilst going through at 38mph(average 25mph for 22 miles), all good until on the way back taking a spell was 24mph at hellawatttzzzzzz.
Saw you'd been beasting yourself! Good riding mate, some good fitness & form you've found!
Lot of metric posts now. Bigger numbers?
Rule 24.
Although I have to admit I only understand miles & feet so that's what I'm using!
