I believe he wanted to run away from me, because
a) He was scared of what I would do to him
b) He was scared of what the police would have to say about the matter
I like to think by the speed of his departure and my accompanying insults that it could have easily been any one of you trolls running scared of a guy 5 stone lighter. XD
And if you are in any doubt, yes I would have defended myself and I am confident he was justified in running scared.

I can't believe you got out of the car because somebody swore at you. Any calm individual would have simply thought he was an arse and moved on at worst and even then you shouldn't be going the full speed limit at the brow of a hill - it doesn't sound like it was his fault. As a driver you should always be cautious.
It sounds like you definitely had a case of road rage.

You have a man who has lost his wife (bitch left him) and children after going bankrupt due to the recession and his business being hit badly. He has been depressed for months and this once active and fit man who ran marathons is now 18 stone! His friends and family try to help him but he is weak and lost all of what once made him who he is, he lacks confidence or drive and is just down in life.
Finally, he thought to himself one day 'I'm going to get through this man i'm going to get back on top!'. Now being motivated he thinks first thing I must do is sort myself out, the man goes out for a walk in the vain attempt to lose his now protruding gut. Having not done anything for ages he's panting and struggling. He needs to cross the road to carry on his route and sees no cars coming so he crosses and is HALFWAY THROUGH THE ROAD SO HAS RIGHT OF WAY, along comes this lovely gentleman (replace lovely gentleman with whatever word you see fit) flashing him as he is struggling to cross the road and has done nothing wrong. The man is in the dumps, he's having a terrible life and he can't believe some random apparent adult is giving him grief to cross the road, beyond his better judgement he reacts to the man the way in which the man would probably react to him by sticking his finger up. The lovely gentlemen gets out of his car and the once great man with a complete lack of confidence just runs away. And err to cut the story short he goes on the rampage and kills 12 people BANG YOU WERE THE CAUSE OP!!!

You. Mine would be an act of self defence (for which you are pretty much allowed to use weapons opportunistically), whereas yours would be an act of aggression.So who would get more time? Me who parks the car safely after locking himself in a paddy, and then proceeds to see how far this fat idiot wants to take it or someone like you who just runs the poor fat idiot over without battling an eyelid?
Either way, as soon as the fat guy was in the road, he had right of way.
