:(

Had my mum round for tea tonight, we left her house (2mins away) at 4.30pm, she got back to her home at 7pm to a wide open back door.

Downstairs hadn't been touched, upstairs was turned upside down.

Lots of things stolen, mainly wrapped/unwrapped xmas presents, including a Wii Black & Wii Fit that was being kept at my mums to hide from my partner :(

We all feel absolutely gutted and violated to a degree, its horrible knowing someones been in your home, sifting through your things.

Police have been round and forensics are coming tomorrow, losses can be claimed off insurance but still, feels like a little bit of xmas has been ruined before its begun :(

One more.. :(

Actually, make it two.. :(:(

Forensics? Didn't think they used them anymore for burglaries.

Probably won't make a difference anyway.

They left behind 2x LCD TV's, a Wii (plugged in) and loads of other stuff that is worth X ammount, probably too bulky to carry.

Its not so much that the stuff has gone, it can (and will) be replaced, but some scum out there has taken a familys gifts and personal possesions for personal gain, just so wrong

Sorry to hear this :(

Was it a wooden door? might be time to get a reinforced composite door fitted to prevent it happening again. Sounds like they were in a rush so might have tried a different house if the door didn't go in in a few kicks.

UPVC, Multi-Locking door.

Then again, no matter what you do, if they want to get in the will. Its just a case of making it as hard as possible in the hope they decide its too much hassle and find an easier target.

Thats what the Police have said tonight, you'll never stop them, but you can deter them and make their lives as difficult as you can.

Forensics have been round today and done their "CSI" thing, not very hopeful of anything come back from it but you never know!

I've already been searching eBay etc for the Wii/WiiF it in particular, if anyone comes across a Wii (Black) and a Wii Fit (Original, NOT Fit Plus) on the internets for sale please pop a link in here, although its not exactly a rare combination!

Lots of extra security measure taken today, hiding of keys/key boxes, tiner lights etc and also purchased a Yale house alarm each, along with PIR security lights for front and back of houses.

Certainly won't stop it, but it will help slow down any future attempts!
