One might think it would have been better to consider the man's record before appointing him and the likely public response but better late than never I suppose? I saw this news yesterday and wondered how this could have been deemed appropriate, even allowing for the occasionally questionable appointments by public bodies this seems a particular high (low?) watermark of inappropriate.

African corruption probably has something to do with it; the new WHO leader previously served as Ethiopia's minister of health and foreign affairs.

I was just going to post the same link.

Can we also have some resignations now as they have now seen the error of their decision? This should surely call into question the intelligence of the people making these decisions, so they should be sent packing, idiots.

I suspect quite a few people are a bit to emotionally involved in this to realise that 'good' and 'bad' are subjective terms and thus a blog article is a perfectly valid thing to link... Also Diddums, no personal insults please bra.
Nothing Mugabe has ever done can outweigh one day of murdering lots of you're own people.

Well in another thread we had a man using chemical weapons on his own people being touted as an excellent leader. Theres some pretty warped opinions knocking about even by GD standards.

Yeah I saw that thread too, someone said that man was a terrible person and that western invasion made the country worse.

Then you have Boycey0211 flipping it in his head into the above because it's what he wanted to read.
