Roberto Mancini (probably, but I'm premature) Sacked

Welcome to a few hours a go. SSN really are behind the times now with Twitter and well technology in general.

The Times break the story, pass it onto their mates at the Telegraph... 2-3 hours later SSN finally catch on and come out with 'Sky sources' 'exclusive' and all that rubbish.

As i have said in the FA Cup final thread, its no real surprise if City have sacked him...with all that money they have and the players, they really need to get a good tactically aware manager in who doesnt **** off his best players ie Tevez;).

Looking forward to a new look premier league next season with Utd, Chelsea, City and Everton having new managers. With the possibility of Wenger also going to PSG and Pulis going to Harlequins/Colwyn Bay.

LMAO where do people get this idea that Wenger is going PSG???

He isnt going anywhere, still has a contract to see out till end of next year and hes made it clear he will honour that contract. Now if he doesnt sign a new contract, bet DM is secretly hoping he doesnt then there is every possiblity that he may go to PSG but i have a feeling he will stay at Arsenal, much like Fergie but move up to a director position.

The reported replacement doesn't seem to scream top manager to me in all honesty. I'd have probably given Mancini at least until Christmas to prove he's still the guy to do the job.

Jumped the gun a bit but yes it is looking like arrivederci Mancini.

Sad to see him go but more so the way it is being drawn out by the management at the club.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing what Pellegrini can do, only ever really had one chance at winning trophies with Real who sacked him because Perez didn't like him it seems but after and before that he has done fantastic work with Villareal and Malaga.

I still believe another manager would be a better appointment but its not always the best manager but the right manager that will bring success.

Pellegrini woooahh Pellegrini wooooaahhh
He comes from Chileeee!!!
To manage Man Cityyy!!!
Pellegrini woooahh Pellegrini wooooaahhh

:p

I would say if they have even discussed sacking him then get it done, that way Pellegrini has a whole summer to build a team and have a proper pre-season.
There has been an inkling since the new CEO and DoF joined that Mancini could be on his way but they didn't want to sack him mid-season because of the upset it might cause.

Doing it now hasn't been smooth and probably not how it was planned but at least this way as I said Pellegrini has time to work with the team.

Pellegrini would've taken the title of Barca the year Mou joined imo, if not the year after. He couldn't have done much different in Europe either, great manager.

didn't he spend £200m in one transfer window before?
He was there when they signed Benzema, Ronaldo and Kaka etc I believe but the way it seems to work at Real it is difficult to say how many of those he actually wanted, besides he was given a year to work with them and lost the league to a very special Barca team by 3 points.

IIRC he said something about Sneijder when he was sold and Perez wasn't happy so he was looking for a reason to sack him and narrowly losing the league was good enough reason. As well as Mourinho becoming available as well after his time at Inter.

I never said I didn't know who he was.

I said I didn't think he was the right man and I have already said, I still don't.

But I have to accept it is going to happen so I have looked at the positives he brings and been reading the articles in the guardian, independent and so on that have mentioned snippets like above from his previous clubs and so on so I thought I would post them here.
