Roberto Mancini (probably, but I'm premature) Sacked

He was there when they signed Benzema, Ronaldo and Kaka etc I believe but the way it seems to work at Real it is difficult to say how many of those he actually wanted, besides he was given a year to work with them and lost the league to a very special Barca team by 3 points.

IIRC he said something about Sneijder when he was sold and Perez wasn't happy so he was looking for a reason to sack him and narrowly losing the league was good enough reason. As well as Mourinho becoming available as well after his time at Inter.

As always with Mourinho he joined a team ready for success before he joined. With Pellegrini they went from not particularly good to on the verge of the title but that season Barca were simply phenomenal, Real set records for number of points/wins they got away or something along those lines, he got more points than Mourinho got the following year with further strengthening of the squad, and less problems with the team.

I don't even think he got fired because of any issues with the board/president, more that the chance to get the supposed best manager around came up and Mourinho had a bigger name than Pellegrini, same way they would ditch Sneijder for a better midfielder.

Mancini has been poo, he won a title, against a really poor Utd(compared to their previous sides in better quality leagues) and barely squeezed by them at the last second. He's thrown his toys out of the pram multiple times, created problems with players, pushed the blame for everything onto the players and the people above him, neither the players, nor the owners trust him and they shouldn't, nothing is his fault according to Mancini.

Malaga coach Manuel Pellegrini has denied speculation he has already agreed to replace Roberto Mancini as Manchester City manager.

Reports over the weekend claimed that City are ready to part with Mancini, although the club have yet to comment on the rumours.

Pellegrini has been lined up to replace Mancini and reports in Spain had suggested the Chilean has already accepted an offer to take charge at the Etihad Stadium.

However, speaking after Malaga's 0-0 draw with Sevilla on Sunday night, Pellegrini stated that no deal is in place and he plans to discuss his future in the next few days.

"Today, I deny I am going to be the new manager of Manchester City," Pellegrini told a press conference. "I have not signed an agreement with anyone, not with Manchester City, not with Roma, not with Napoli, not with PSG, not with any of the clubs who have been mentioned.

I pray it isn't true. However, I fear that Txiki and Soriano may well sack Mancini and bring in Pellegrini as he will be on their terms and a bit of a yes man. Mancini from the outside has no problems opposing management and other staff.

Reciting posts?
That is my opinion, I have limited knowledge of him as a manager except he has won hardly anything and apart from a semi final with Villareal, quarter final with Malaga and a record points for 2nd position with Real a few years ago he has done nothing.
Saying "yes man" was probably the wrong words but what I mean is that Txiki may well think working with Pellegrini will be a lot easier than working with Mancini

Great? well I don't know enough about him to give an opinion outside of looking at his CV on paper compared with other managers which is what I am doing and it is pretty poor in comparison.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing what Pellegrini can do, only ever really had one chance at winning trophies with Real who sacked him because Perez didn't like him it seems but after and before that he has done fantastic work with Villareal and Malaga.

Pellegrini woooahh Pellegrini wooooaahhh
He comes from Chileeee!!!

Fantastic work Biz :D

Did anyone notice that Mancini always had someone to blame for his poor management? Nearly always his own players?

He just never had enough backbone. He would turn on the players in an instant and has spoken publicly about matters that should never be discussed with the media.

He has had the best squad in the league now for 2 seasons and made very little of it whilst always making excuses for why things weren't going the way he wanted. I felt at times that he almost didn't care about some results because he could then use them to say "look, my squad isn't good enough and I should have been allowed to spend big last window".

A top class manager with the squad he has would have walked the EPL this season and last.

There are quite a few City fans who feel Mancini is still the man for the job, normally the fans would be screaming for him to go.

Which is surprising seeing as he has spent so much money on getting players in and still couldnt defend the EPL title along with the FA Cup.
