Roberto Mancini (probably, but I'm premature) Sacked

That would be good to see, it would certainly be an eye-opener for Lennon i'd imagine.

a bit of a change from being sat at the top of the SPL.

LOL they dont look like a happy bunch the City owner and execs...even Viera in the background looks angry:p

There are quite a few City fans who feel Mancini is still the man for the job, normally the fans would be screaming for him to go.

They are desperately hanging onto the idea that they are not a team that has no soul and think that if they have the same manager for a few years in good times and bad that they will gain credibility. I am all for this idea myself. As long as they keep Mancini they will never be as dangerous as their teamsheet suggests.

I hope you purposefully lose matches if your team aren't playing 'the beautiful game'.

My team always plays the beautiful game ;).

'It is better to fail aiming high then to succeeded aiming low, and we have set our sights very high, so high in fact that even failure will have in it an echo of glory'

I'm a bit disappointed in myself that I didn't pair you with obsessive FM playing before, it was obvious that's where it comes from ;) :p.

It is with regret that Manchester City Football Club announces that Roberto Mancini has been relieved of his duties as Manchester City Manager.

This has been a difficult decision for the owner, Chairman and Board to make and it is the outcome of a planned end of season review process that has been brought forward in light of recent speculation and out of respect for Roberto and his extensive contributions to the Football Club.

Despite everyone’s best efforts, the Club has failed to achieve any of its stated targets this year, with the exception of qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League. This, combined with an identified need to develop a holistic approach to all aspects of football at the Club, has meant that the decision has been taken to find a new manager for the 2013/14 season and beyond.

Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said: “Roberto’s record speaks for itself and he has the respect and gratitude of Sheikh Mansour, myself and the Board for all of his hard work and commitment over the last three and a half years. He has clearly also secured the love and respect of our fans. He has done as he promised and delivered silverware and success, breaking the Club’s 35-year trophy drought and securing the title in 2012. Apart from being tactically inept Robert is an alright bloke, we will forever be in the shadow of United but we must move forward. I would like to personally and publicly thank him for his dedication to the progress that he has overseen and for his support and continued friendship."

Assistant Manager Brian Kidd will take interim responsibility for the remaining two games of the season and the post-season tour to the United States.

They say it as if they weren't the ones that did it.

I posted the 'rumour' about Pellegrini back at the start of the month, this was Biz's response

I gave up listening to what he has to say because he changes his mind every week so when a deal comes off he can say "See I told you Falcao will go to Chelsea/Man City/Real"

As for Pellegrini being the owners choice, I really cannot see why. All he has to his name is a semi final with Villareal in the CL and taking Malaga to the quarters this year.
If the owner want's european success then hire Benitez.

It's irrelevant anyway, the only way I saw Mancini being sacked is if Guardiola was still available. As it stands there is no stand out candidate out there that would make it worthwhile replacing Mancini.

:D :o :D

Recent speculation... what?! It's their ****ing PR / media department that's leaked like a friggin sieve and then spent the past few days not commenting on it. Idiots.

A year to the day that they won the title too! :D

We've got our trophy back, and now he's got the sack!

Damn it now Mancini is gone they might actually be good next year. United fans should be sad he got sacked he was holding City back, now they get a good manager in Pellegrini.
