Roberto Mancini (probably, but I'm premature) Sacked

What we have offered for the Isco deal is apparently 17.9m + Denis Suarez.

I don't see us paying close to the buy out clause simply because it is far too much and Malaga are desperate for the cash.

With regards to the staff, the goalkeeper coach, fitness coach, first team coach and defensive coach. Lombardo was a first team coach last year as well before he moved to manage the u21. We have also sacked Jim Cassell who was working with the academy and a few years ago was our head of youth and also the managers of the u16 and u18 I think.

As you say DM, Pellegrini will bring his own staff in to deal with the first team but the youth teams etc I think will be coaches brought in by Txiki.

Hardly, he got the job in summer 2008 (before Mansour had even taken over) and was sacked in 2009 so had little over a year after the takeover. He never actually got to manage a full complete season under the current owners.

So that's just a little over a year longer than he should have been given?

Nice touch.

What is the latest with this? Pellegrini still looking to be favourite?

Mourinho, if he takes over at Chelsea will surely look forward to competing with Moyes & Pellegrini for the title!

Certainly 3 out of the top 4 clubs having new managers will make it an interesting season, on the basis of having new guys in the dugout. But, one would assume there will be a large turnover of players involved as well. Should make the transfer market in the summer quite enjoyable!

SSN:

Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that he will be leaving Malaga at the end of the season, amidst reports that he is close to taking over at Manchester City. Meanwhile, Samir Nasri has spoken of his respect for the Chilean....

"I think he is a great manager. He proved himself with Villarreal. At Real Madrid as well, even though he didn't win the title, they finished with 96 points."

Latest Update;
Manuel Pellegrini's agent Jesus Martinez has told A Bola (Portugal) that his client has rejected PSG and Porto and will take the City job.

Should be announced sometime next week after Malaga's final game against Barca I reckon. Along with some players hopefully!

A City fan started a donation page and raised money to take out this advert in the Gazzetta Dello Sport.

Over 700 people donated. Nice touch imo.

Not sure how much of a coup getting Navas is, isn't he the guy that gets really homesick? I'd be wary of signing anyway that could just disappear halfway through a season.

He'd be fine, he could give Tevez a little hug when they both get lonely or homesick.

Navas has said that he isn't affected by the problems anymore. He is ready to move away, responded positively when asked about City so I am sure if he sign he will be ok.

Manuel Pellegrini has revealed he has a verbal agreement with Manchester City to take over from Roberto Mancini as manager.

The Malaga manager has been tabbed as Mancini's replacement since the Italian was fired just before the end of the Premier League season.

Pellegrini guided Malaga to their highest ever league finish last season as they ended the campaign in fourth to qualify for their debut in the Champions League.

They went on to reach the last-eight of the competition and were only seconds away from beating eventual losing finalists Borussia Dortmund to reach the semi-finals.

"I have a verbal agreement with them and I hope it is carried out," he said in an interview with the Andalusian television station Canal Sur on Wednesday.

"As of today, I don't have a signed contract.

"It is true that Manchester City have shown a lot of interest that I become their coach and I have had conversations with them.

"Until things have been signed, you cannot say everything is completely done."

Just about a done deal then.

I see it being announced on Monday. His final game v Barca is on the Sunday so it won't be before then I don't think.

Oh and he will be sitting alongside Isco :p

Looks like Pellegrini will be announced very shortly,
He is according to the Mirror owed two months wages and as soon as it ticks over to three months he effectively is a free agent and we don't have to pay any compensation. He is expected to start work on the 1st July.

Rumors are we have already done all the media work, official site photographs and interview etc so just waiting for his contract to expire then he can be formally announced.
