Roberto Mancini (probably, but I'm premature) Sacked

Goalkeeper, defender, first team and fitness coach all leaving with their stuff today.

There's more chance of us signing Ronaldo than there is Spurs keeping Bale, signing a creative attacking midfielder and a striker

Just think, if united hadn't of dropped Rooney against Blackburn last season we could have brought about this destruction a year early.

I said then that if we had won the league they would have fired him and sent the club into turmoil and another bout of buying and selling.

Mancini wasn't good enough for a club of MC's financial stature IMO:
-Falling out with certain players
-Didn't win a single CL game this season
-Didn't win any trophies this season
-Obsession with bringing on holding midfielders when his team needs a goal - there was one game where it worked and sometimes it frees up Toure a bit but in general he seems too conservative
-Tinkers with his defence at times

Mourinho would be a good appointment I feel, everyone seems to think him going to Chelsea is a done deal but I wouldn't rule out him taking the MC job.

Neither would i but one thing is for sure, if Mourinho goes to City then every team in the EPL next season should be quaking in their boots. Because despite Mancini's inept reign as their manager...i can see City winning a lot of trophies next season if Mourinho takes the City job.

There is no chance whatsoever of Mourinho.

For the exact same reasons Txiki and Soriano chose Guardiola back in 2008? they will choose Pellegrini/someone else over Mourinho.

I wouldn't completely rule him out. It depends how City are thinking. Would a 3/4 year burst of almost guaranteed success be better than a manager who may not actually do all that well, but could have better longer term prospects.

I have to say that I would.

Pellegrini much like Guardiola follows this "holistic approach" that the club now want and I would say Mourinho much like Mancini are very far away from it. That is the sole reason I believe we wouldn't even approach him.

Any other CEO/DoF and we probably would have moved mountains to get him but we have Soriano and Txiki and I just can't see it.

You make a good point, I think a 3/4 year burst of more success would be great for the team right now but when it comes to say 2017 the whole process will start again and it just doesn't seem in the clubs plans to do that.

Totally agree, and I'd add to that that he lost out in the league by 10+ points to a United side who were not brilliant (nor were they appalling!).

Not sure that I agree with the Mourinho bit though, can't see it happening and actually, I don't think that it's the City board's way. Mansour has given Hughes time and Mancini time. The only Prem managers I can think of to have been at their club for longer than him are/were Moyes, Ferguson, Wenger, and Pulis. He clearly wants somebody who he can build a club around, and Mourinho's not that person.

Can someone explain where Mourinhos bad rep has come from. Every club that he has been at has either been a smaller club which lead to better roles or part of a club that has bat **** crazy management.

Both Chelsea and Real Madrid are an absolute nightmare to manage by all accounts. I think that if he was given control over things and allowed to work without owners sticking their oar in he might stay somewhere longer than a few years.

And spend an absolute fortune on players as well no doubt (now maybe RA wouldnt notice but Im sure the FPP might have something to say - if anything ever happens with this to a major club of course)
