Rock Band screenies and prices

dragonforce as some of the top tier guitar songs would be amusing, hell itd all be pretty tough courtesy of the high tempo

but i agree why nothing in the line up is inherently bad there does need to be some additions that arent present in gh2, dragonforce is certainly one of them in terms of difficulty

i imagine they also have to limit themselves on what is physically playable on the peripherals available, (ie, if that drum kit stands, no double kick pedal songs....much to my disgust, as adding that would allow a whole repetoir of songs and complexity)

Update:

http://biz.gamedaily.com/industry/news/?id=16773

Rock Band will be shipping with entire albums:

Harmonix announced today that Who's Next will be the first full length album available as a digitally-distributed game level. This offering will be part of the upcoming Rock Band, which will also feature Blue Oyster Cult's Don't Fear the Reaper, Bon Jovi's Wanted Dead or Alive and Foo Fighters' Learn to Fly. New content will be available to download for the game every week after its release for PS3 and Xbox 360 in late 2007.

And, in another piece of news so exciting it received its own press release, Metallica's Enter Sandman will be featured in the game. This will be the original master recording and not a cover.

i want to know what pricing is going to be for this content. Weekly songs?? could quickly add up, combine it with the extraordinary retail price for the game itself and this could end up being more expensive than the wii

i really didn't want to get this, its going to be so damn expensive, like over 3 times the price of guitar hero probably, and i dont have any other friends with 360's so its not like we could split the peripherals. Cant believe they got metallica though :(

Looks like we won't be getting it until early 2008 now :(

!!! Where did you see that? If that's true, it's made my day even worse than it already was! ugh. :(

edit: ah, on wiki, damnit! I really would have thought they would push for christmas release in EU too, seems like a really poorly thought out strategic move. Now i'm really depressed. lol :D

Can't even import the bugger as EA are publishing it, and they always region lock.

Yeah importing would really suck though.. would not like to have to pay the customs on a $200 import.

Any word on how the multiplayer will work with it on PS3? Can euro PSN id's hook up with US ones etc. etc.? If not, that could be a further downside to importing...

Bleh, this isn't easing my depression. hehe ;)

Was mentioned at E3 and since then, bit off a shame really, more surprised theres not going to be a Wii version! Anyway gives me a chance with GH3, both would have been out about the same time if not.

It was announced as early as that? Strange, i've been keeping an eye on things. I must be blind, lol.

Yeah a wii version would have been interesting, but tbh I would still have got it for the PS3 instead I think. I'll be picking up the wii shooters like resi evil umbrella chronicles though! ;)

You have a fair point about GH3, but the most fun I get out of GH games is playing along with my other half and friends, I'll only be getting one of the GH3 guitars as I really can't afford any more. However, if they make PS2 GH controllers compatible all of sudden then i'll certainly be getting more excited about GH3. ;) I'll probably end up just having the full set of rock band equipment and using the GH3 wireless one as the 2nd guitar for rock band. Shame about the cross-compatibility still being under question, guess we have to wait til both games are out to find out for sure.

My mate's buying those, then we're going round his for a good old shindig.

Hehe sweet. We'll more than likely be starting a family band, the other half on mic. as she's not too bad at singing, then alternate guitar and drum positions with my brother and the brother in law. :D A few mates are planning on getting it too, so could be good for some online shenanigans. :D
