£££ Rockband- Unofficial thread £££

Yeah well they've not long developed one for the RB2 kit as the RB1 kit device won't work on it :)

Defo gonna help on songs like all the Disturbed tunes, Clouds over California, Battery, Stay Away etc. Most songs I can do with 1 pedal but there are the exception killer songs :D
 
I feel dirty, I used Polly to get the 100% expert achievement :o. Also exported all my songs in expectation of RB2. GHWT has me excited but I must admit after playing Rockband the last few days I really can't wait for 2.

I'm gonna have a real go at suffregette tonight so I can play the ones I know I can do. Plus yet another pop at flirting on hard. If GHWT has turned up I will atleast have a spare guitar when I smash one up in frustration.
 
Speaking of smashing a guitar up in frustration...

Edit: fixed it, had to take the guiater apart and fix the battery compartment :p

I have a 2 pedals as mine broke so I got a replacement but then the kit broke so I got another kit including a pedal :)

Fonz there were a couple of weeks where the RB music store didn't update, so a few songs including the Megadeth and Rush albums and one of my fave songs ever Love Spreads by the Stone Roses :cool: didn't upload. They're only on the Live Marketplace, might want to check there.

Still I have a spare pedal so this will save my legs on Maps/WGFA :p
 
I did the 100% drums achievement on charlene (I'm right behind you) so NERRRR :p

Now for someone to come and steal my thunder and say they did it on run to the hills or something :p

Monkey I told you, bounce your body along with your leg and maps is a LOT easier, and a lot more fun :D

Dude if the Omega Pedal was £19 I would defo be buying two :p

For me Maps & WGFA are OK with one foot, but download and try Clouds over California and Stay Away - now that's a proper foot workout :p :D

I did it on I Think I'm Paranoid :p but have since 100%'ed Gimme Shelter, Blitzkrieg Bop and Charlene. I think i've got a -1/-2 on She Sells Sanctuary and Crushcrushcrush too :p

And I do the bouncy leg on songs which have a constant beat, like Maps :)

Getting 100% is all about learning to control your leg/arms independently of each other and knowing the song :)
 
I don't own Rock Band but would like to when Rock Band 2 comes out. As the instruments are not out when RB2 is would you say it is worth getting RB1 instruments? They will be available now and and the instrument pack is £79.99 whereas the new pack is rumoured to be around £50 more.

be interesting teaching someone to play using rock band if you could upload songs u could make exercises for people to practice using techniques.

What do you find the hardest to do? There are easy techniques for everything :P
 
Rock band 2 has a drum beat/fill trainer, which goes though various rock/pop/metal etc beats and fills and you can select different tempos for them to practice. I've seen some vids on youtube and it looks very cool and would be very useful :)

I've played drums for about 5 or so years, and i jumped straight in on hard on rock band. The most difficult thing was to get used to the layout of the kit, but once that becomes natural to you it's a cinch imo. I've done the main set list on expert and out of the 45 ish dlc i've got there's only 3 i've yet to pass. I occasionally play guitar/bass but now drums is the main thing i play.

I love playing real drums but for a computer game rock band is very very fun to play :) i wholeheartedly recommended it!
 
yeah i saw those practice things, but things like triplets it doesn't show you how to use the mollar technique or anything like that which is so simple just harder to explain.

double strokes? i dont think tehy really implimennted them that much in this from what ive seen. I think you can just do singles.

Make sure you use your fingers, ** fingers should be followin the stick and pushign it back down to go quickly. Your little finger is the strongest you have but its quite hard to get it going quickly, especialy on your weaker hand.


With your 16th notes make sure you count them 1-e-an-da 2-e-an-da 3-e-an-da 4-e-an-da 1-e.... can help a lot when getting to grips.

Or if you struggle with that, just say ca-ter-pil-lar :P
 
It does help to have been a musician of some instrument at some point in your life to get the timing :p

It's why, even though I'm a guitarist, the timing on rock band was pretty easy to get used to, it's why I find orange crush on expert so easy.

It's allllllll down to timing.
