i has ion!
i got them when they were first released in the UK for £250, about a year ago. tbh once you go ion/e-kit, you'll never go back to the rb1/2 drum kits. the ion kick pedal is a pile of crap though as its a really hihat pedal and you need a proper kick pedal that can stand up to the beatings.
playing yellow patterns that are charted as hihats, on a cymbal placed where a real hihat is, is sooo much more satisfying than hitting a yellow pad.
however, if im being totally honest, over the course of the year, i think i must've spent an extra £400-500 upgrading them into a what would be considered an entry level e-kit (rock pedal, roland pdx8, roland kd8, hihatkickbox, yamaha dtxpress ii brain, pintech single zone cymbals, extra roland drum rack to supplement and strengthen the ion rack, the list just goes on and on..) and i've been totally happy with them, until i got slapped in the face by the upgrade bug's bigger brother..
right now, im having a custom kit built for me, all the looks of an acoustic kit with the advantages of them actually being electronically triggered so it'll work with rb/gh etc. heres a pic of the bass drum:

im waiting on 2 rack toms and a floor tom in the same sparkle red finish and then i'll have a drum kit again! (cant be arsed to put my ion back together again and ditched my rb1 set ages ago)
for any guitarists, check this beast out:
http://www.fakeplasticrock.com/2009/09/07/mad-catz-wireless-fender-stratocaster-review/, a bit pointless as you cant use it as a real guitar (like how you can convert the ions into an e-kit) but how nice is that!
