*** Rocket League PS4 Thread ***

I play it most evenings for a quick 30 mins blast. Depending if I am on form or not, if I couldn't hits barn door I'll quit and go back later, if I am not doing too bad I'll play longer.

I'm trying to learn how to "fly" I still can't manage that with any accuracy.
 
Im getting my head around aerials but nothing thats really reproducible. Biggest issue I have is while I can meet the ball I dont generally have power behind any shot nor can I easily get it on target without idealised circumstances.

Stuff like Kuxir twists and any of the freestyle tricks are just way beyond me.

We really should get some 3v3 private matches together just as it might be a cool way to learn stuff like this from better players.

I wouldnt worry about the freestyle tutorial - just the different ways to get into the air for aerials and how to practise that (though Ive found Pro Aerial training a good thing to try first)...

Lots of practicing needed in the coming days and need to change my controller layout !

There's an AIR ROLL button??? lol

No wonder i could never figure out how to spin in the air. It was mapped to 'square' which is possibly the worst button for it.

Now it all makes sense.

Also adjusted the camera a lot and it all feels better now.

What an idiot!
 
Whats your camera settings? Think I just stole Kronovis and not tinkered since

Yeah L1 for air roll/handbrake is better - though I havent really used it much in the air with purpose...

Got to say playing with people that you feel are equally competent makes you feel like trying more stuff in a game - just cant rely on randoms

Ive not settled on it yet - but pulled it back a bit to get better view.

And L1 brings up scoreboard online - just remembered. Wonder if you can change that too. yes...I see you can

Yeah i've mapped R1 for scoreboard and L1 for air roll, much better than square.

I have put some serious hours into this game and I never realised there was a button for this! This will probably make my flying worse now!
 
Also, random question, Ball Cam... Yes or no ? I've noticed it seems awful to use when the ball is up in the air but it helps when tracking back for the defense. How does everyone else use it if at all ?

I flick to it when the ball disappears from my view, such as in the air or behind me. I cant stay in that view for long before switching back.
 
The only time I turn ball cam off is when I'm hauling *** down the middle of the pitch. 9/10 the camera tends to make me miss as it just freaks out.

I'd be up for giving it a go. I'm going to be in Vancouver until the 9th April so will be unable to play until then so it depends when the games have to be played really.

But other than now-9th i'd be happy to play and see if we get passed the first set of games ;)
