ROG Swift PG35VQ!!

That has always been on the cards and known about here (where I first read about many, many months ago), Acer will have a similar one on same panel (VA initially anyhow).

Looks like it will be another "fake" HDR display too :D :p

So glad I bought an oled tv now, good riddance monitor milking industry! You will not be missed.

Money is waiting for this one... the closest thing to a perfect monitor.

Only to be surpassed when they finally sort out oled image retention... mmmmm... 200Hz 6880x2880 OLED

Very nice looking monitor but agreed with the others it's not going to come cheap.

I think release is Q2 2018.

I'm interested as long as it's perfection and nothing less. Already doubtful as they went with VA with it's well known horrific ghosting issues, especially at 200hz.

Shudders in non G-sync/Freesync 60fps :p :D

Going to require some heavy SLI GPU power for 200HZ in gaming! 2x Titan Volta maybe? I think it will be Ultimate monitor combo for Volta and 2x SLI

Does not mean you need to hit 200FPS, just means if you go past the HZ of a 144HZ monitor with 145+FPS you do not need rely on crappy V-Sync or newer not matured yet Fast-Sync.

While this makes me drool, I could never bring myself to part with the amount of money this will cost on a monitor alone :p

I'm done with spending large amounts of cash on any LCD tech period as its crap IMO, no more Panel Lottery for me.

I will tide myself over on this VA till OLED or whatever.

Sounds like an interesting mix of technology that they will no doubt obliterate with their manky grainy coating.

My VA is Semi Gloss which is strange as normally they make them Glossy to let it pop out at you, I prefer Glossy and cannot go the horrid Vaseline grainy coating.

haha :D 60 fps does me just fine (motion clarity going to be fantastic on OLED even with just 60 fps and input lag not be an issue as I won't play any FPS MP games on it) but yeah no freesync is a shame, hopefully the next round of oled tvs will have it.

I think it's just a shame the way the monitor market was leading at one point and now, not only is it behind massively compared to the tv display technology but they are still charging rip of prices for old tech. IMO, if you are paying £1000+ for a 34" IPS/VA monitor that will be used for "casual" gaming and films, you are far better spending the extra few hundred and getting a 55" 4k true HDR OLED.

You can be guaranteed that when OLED drops for monitors, it will cost at least £2000 for a 27" monitor unless OLED monitors are another 2/3+ years out..... :(

Am i the only person that is not excited by this due to the VA display? What use is the 200hz if it's going to smear all over the place with slow response times? :|

To be honest a good 4k screen is pretty amazing for rpg games and 60fps is spot on with a controller. Although controller is not for me on FPS games. I was playing TW3 on mine a while back and was very impressed with it. Only thing I didn't like is I'd need it less than 6ft away to comfortably enjoy and notice all the details. But in the end because of this stuck with my 21:9 100hz as I do love it.

But yeah the current QC on monitor panels is disgraceful. At one point i nearly said stuff it and got a 4k TV.

Yep me too. I've tried the Z35p VA and the ghosting was horrible to say the least. About a full UFO (black streak size) on the ghosting test. And that was at 120hz never mind 200hz.

Who says it WILL smear, better than glowing and all other issues that seem to be rife with current AUO panels.

Would you have bought it as £1200-2000 anyhow? ;)
