ROG Swift PG35VQ!!

Who says it WILL smear, better than glowing and all other issues that seem to be rife with current AUO panels.

Would you have bought it as £1200-2000 anyhow? ;)

Every other va panel ever says that i think mate lol. I would pay 1200 for it yeah, 2000? no not a chance.

I think i'm just gonna go for the alienware, 120hz ips with good response times should do for a few years :)

"The ROG Strix XG32VQ is 32" across and has a resolution of 2560x1440 in a standard 16:9 aspect ratio. Asus lists a maximum brightness of 300 cd/m² and a contrast ratio of 3000:1 on the spec sheet. The display's FreeSync range dips as low as 48 Hz and goes all the way up to the maximum 144 Hz refresh rate. FreeSync works using either the DisplayPort 1.4 or HDMI 2.0 connectors. This model's color reproduction is particularly good for a gaming display at 125% of the sRGB space.

The larger ROG Strix XG35VQ has a 21:9 ultra-wide aspect ratio and a resolution of 3440x1440, all in a 35" screen. The FreeSync range goes from 48 Hz to the monitor's maximum 100 Hz refresh rate, but the variable refresh rate tech only works using the HDMI 2.0 connector. The brightness specification is the same 300 cd/m² as that of the XG32VQ, but the contrast ratio slips a bit to a still-impressive 2500:1 and the color gamut should cover 100% of sRGB. The XG35VQ also has a blur-reduction mode available."

Does not mean you need to hit 200FPS, just means if you go past the HZ of a 144HZ monitor with 145+FPS you do not need rely on crappy V-Sync or newer not matured yet Fast-Sync.
You do need vsync to eliminate tearing no matter what the hz is. Problem is that most panels in the past are locked at 60hz/60fps. My Overlord Tempest ive now had for 6 years 1440p 120hz IPS. You cant get them anymore so the new ROG is a great upgrade for myself.

V-Sync is crap and adds lag, never had to use it even above the HZ of my high end CRT's only seen tearing on LCD TBH and Fast-Sync takes care of that.

No way will I be using my OLED for desktop usage! lol

My 29um65 will do for all FPS MP gaming and desktop/browsing etc. stuff and then I'll be streaming films/tv shows + 90% of my gaming on the OLED TV.

To be honest a good 4k screen is pretty amazing for rpg games and 60fps is spot on with a controller. Although controller is not for me on FPS games. I was playing TW3 on mine a while back and was very impressed with it. Only thing I didn't like is I'd need it less than 6ft away to comfortably enjoy and notice all the details. But in the end because of this stuck with my 21:9 100hz as I do love it.

But yeah the current QC on monitor panels is disgraceful. At one point i nearly said stuff it and got a 4k TV.

Yeah I use a controller for pretty much everything that isn't a FPS/shooter game. Only FPS game I play regularly are BF titles.

Saying that not had any issues with M + K at 60 fps (although my monitor has very low input lag for a 60HZ screen)

21.9 is awesome for gaming, it really re-ignited my interest in gaming so will be getting a custom 21.9 res on the 4k tv.

I just can't stand not having "true" black on displays now!

Pro gamers like TN Monitors due to 1ms and turn their noses up at slower VA/IPS at 4ms and that is down to milliseconds same as V-Sync ON is.

Its the devil and not needed today with G-Sync+Fast Sync but was a necessary evil for some in the past.

Then again add wireless mouse lag (it does not exist on some todays) as a lot of them also will not touch those with a barge pole.

All those little milliseconds add up to even more milliseconds=lag.

I love my 55 inch oled TV, but there is no way I'd use it with my desktop pc.

Far too big and the threat of image retention would always worry me.

Also love 21:9 gaming now, so going to have to stick with LCD for the time being :(

I use mine for gaming probably more than my PC and image retention has been a pretty much non issue. I've seen it a few times after a few hours with HUD moving to a complete white screen but not in any normal gameplay and even then it lasts a few seconds.

I wouldn't want to use it as a permanent monitor though for desktop usage. Gaming and TV only I'd say.

You can always just set in game to 21:9 as the black bars are a non issue :p.
