Roller or Paint Pod?

What would confirm it to me if there was trade vans outside homebase loading up their paintpods and homebase paints, there's not very many, most are outside brewers loading up brushes rollers and johnstones paint.

Exactly......if the own brand paint was that good then we'd all be loading our vans up because we would make more profit....own brand paint is not that good, ok, it's improved slightly over the last couple of years but no where near improved enough for me to use on my customers houses

Then in fairness he needs to read my post correctly as I was on about own brand paint not Dulux paint

To be fair, your post wasn't really that clear considering that B&Q doesn't sell own brand bases or sell any paint created with our own bases.

Also the pigment quality of the base paint supplied to B&Q and the other sheds is not the same quality as the decorators outlets...

I took this to mean the Dulux bases supplied to B&Q... which is the only way that sentence would make sense.

B&Q Colours/own brand paint is indeed made by a variety of manufacturers including Crown but I never said it was the same as Dulux...

Ah yes...but... the own brand paint is lousy quality compared to the named brands.
Also the pigment quality of the base paint supplied to B&Q and the other sheds is not the same quality as the decorators outlets...that's how they can sell the paint cheaper than the outlets.
I have come to this conclusion after years of painting and decorating for a living.

I though I was pretty clear there to be fair and at no point in the post do I mention Dulux......I was talking about own brand paints which are inferior to named brands.
Sorry if I mislead you.

I got a paint pod for the grand total of £1.38 this morning in fact.

Dunno if I will use it, but I was getting some bolts and stuff and seen that you got the pod free with any dulux item, so we bought a dulux taster pot of paint for £1.38 and got the Pod free.

Bargain.

This offer is valid all weekend until stocks last if anyone feels the need to try a paint pod out for next to no money.

No, but you later said this:

OK so the own brand B&Q paint is the same as Dulux paint?

And anyway, I never said that own brand was as good as branded. I was simply saying all along that the branded paints you buy at B&Q (whether it's mixed Dulux or otherwise) is the same quality as the same branded stuff (granted we don't sell Macpherson and stuff) you get at Decorators outlets and often cheaper with our frequent offers too. Dulux/Crown/et al don't spend millions (and it would cost millions) making one set of products for sheds and another for specialist shops. Of course some of their products are only available in those shops, but like for like the same product is the same regardless of where you get it.

Recently been repainting most of the rooms in our new house and found myself reverting back to cheapo mini-rollers. I just seemed to get the best finish with them and as they are light and tiny you can get right into corners etc without fuss. I expected it to take a lot longer but it doesn't seem to, or perhaps it's just less work spread out over a wee while longer.

Definately sticking with them for a while, no drips either :)
