Rollercoaster Tycoon World

Excitement level over 9000!

Developed by Pipeworks, RollerCoaster Tycoon World once again puts players in charge of a theme park, complete with rides, shops, patrons and, of course, the titular roller coasters. Park maintenance and customer happiness need to be tended to, as well as overall construction and expansion efforts. But in the newest installment, players can also cooperate with up to four players to manage one massive amusement park.

"Many of the new features in RollerCoaster Tycoon World were not possible a few years ago, but we have taken advantage of technological improvements to offer a wildly fun gaming experience that stays true to the storied franchise," Atari CEO Fred Chesnais said in a press release.

Other players' parks can be visited, and coaster blueprints can be shared online as well –– Pipeworks wants to make RollerCoaster Tycoon World the most connected Tycoon title yet.

Atari said RollerCoaster Tycoon World is a full PC experience, and will be "micro-transaction free," so players will have access to all of the content at release.

I just hope it is better than the third one.

I'm assuming that Chris Saywer is not involved in this, like RCT3 (which was relative junk compared to the first two), therefore I will be very reserved until more gameplay details come out. However, any news is good news at this point.

I love the trailer, it's just so awesome. Really really clever actually. Looks like the first 3/4s of the video are real life footage, then as it drops over the top flicks to in game, what you think? Or is it CG when it's ascending the track?

I still have RCT2 that I play with Kiah on her laptop sidey, such an awesome game.

This was me:

Oooh, these graphics look quite good, textures are good, lighting is great, can't wait to see the rendered theme park once it goes over the top...

<cuts to ~2003 PC / 2012 mobile-level "cutesy" graphics>

Oh.... :(

I have just been reading about the iOS version that out now, it is by most accounts awful. Yes I know that PC version is meant to be a separate game but it is still worrying non the less.

To be honest the graphics don't really bother me that much. As long as the game play is good and it looks all right then I will be happy.
