....i like Ronaldo, i think hes a great footballer but comparison between him and Messi are a bit unfair...Messi is just on another planet when it comes to football...not only does he score lots of goals but hes always making things happen and doesnt seem to be an extremely selfish player.
Yet Ibra, and to a lesser degree Villa have been considered.... meh, because they haven't scored as much as Eto'o, as Messi has gotten better, he's also their main goal scorer.
Benzema started off crap but has improved a lot and Ronaldo sets him up well, Ronaldo also linked up great with Higuian till his injury.
Ronaldo has the most shots on his team, Messi has the most shots for Barca, 2.5times as many as Pedro in the somewhat opposite position, and more than Villa their main striker.
People see what they want to see, Messi has 14 more assists over the past 6 years, so just over 2 more assists a season..... considering the team he plays for is that really that surprising, if I'm seeing it right Barca have scored 44 more goals than Real in the past 5 seasons. The season before Ronaldo arrived Barca outscored Real by 20 goals, the two seasons since, Real have outscored Barca.
Ronaldo had 10 assists in the league in 32 games, better than the vast majority of people in Europe, but he's selfish because he scored so many? Did no one actually watch Ronaldo this season except in a couple el classico's where the MANAGER put Ronaldo up front on his own, with no support?
Ronaldo also apparently isn't very good on the ball..... or at passing.....
Messi is a truly excellent player, Ronaldo is every bit as good, its not necessary, but I've rarely if ever seen Messi pass with his back, shoulder, or be as "tricksy" as Ronaldo. Ronaldo tends to play with pure pace because he's pretty fast, so his tricks are a bit more showy, Messi tends to keep the ball very very close and jink through players rather than go around, neither is better, both players can play both ways, they just have a preference.
