On a side note, I though many payers didnt sing at the start?

Rooney decided not to sing and good on him. I'd love to see some of the posters standing and singing it with patriotic fervour.

Give an example of him not giving his all anytime when hes got an england shirt on? if anything hes like beckham and trys too hard and ends up running around the pitch like a headless chicken, but thats born of frustration

An example? How about him bottling a tackle last night which led to Montenegro hitting the bar? Or the past few of the previous game where he just keeps huffin and puffing instead of chasing?
He chased back once last night to make a ridiculous foul.

It's not disrespectful to not sing the National Anthem, patriotism is in action, not words and the fact that someone like Rooney goes out and plays for his country regardless of the abuse that he gets for it proves his worth.
Besides my Granddad used to say that you should stand and quietly contemplate the words, not murder them with your own cacophony, and he was the most patriotic person I knew.
The fact that he is hobbled by all the lesser fools such as Gerard and Lampard only increases his patriotism...

It used to be back in the 1900s to 1960s (!) but players get a wage now.
The old players played for nothing and made their own way there.
It's all about money and nothing to do with patriotism.
