Rooney out for a month.....

Well thankfully we dont need to worry about Arsenal anymore so just have to hope Chelsea continue their ropey form :p

LOL thats what you think but if Arsenal do drop points this weekend and continue to drop points in the next few games then i really hope Chelski win the EPL...as much as i hate to to admit that but id be much happier of Chelski win it rather than Utd.

i think we have seen the last of Fabregas in English football, i dont expect to see him in an Arsenal shirt again.

I think Barca will go hard for him in the summer, and if he doesnt make the World Cup squad due to this injury, he will feel even more disillusioned at the gooners.

Whereas as an Arsenal fan i dont think we have seen the last of him in all honesty...why go to Barca when he wouldnt even get a starting place???...unless Barca sell Xavi or Iniesta which i cannot see.

I do expect Fabregas to leave in the next few yrs but i dont think he will be going anywhere this summer...

wow, you've surprised us all there. we kind of got the feeling from your posts that United were your second team.

2-3 weeks.

LOL no not a chance in hell would Utd be my second team...i dont like Chelski either myself but for me they are the lesser of the 2 evils so to speak.

Am getting fed up of Utd dominating yr in and yr out in the EPL...about time another team won the EPL imo....not knocking Utd though as they set the standard yr in and yr out...god knows how Fergie does it...i mean you lost Ronaldo and yet still manage to challenge for the EPL and to some extent the CL...although the loss of Rooney for a few weeks must be a relief when it could have very well been the whole season unlike Fabregas whos now out for the rest of the season:(....hopefully we can still keep pace till the last few games but i have a feeling that next week we will be out of the CL and we will struggle against the Spuds:p...i expect us to struggle against Wolves this weekend as well.

I agree with this :)

Can't see Fabregas going anywhere this summer unless something happens (bad injury or sale) to Xavi or Iniesta.

Sorry, forgot to mention with a little help from Own Goal :p

You forgot to mention penalties as well. He chips in and is important for the home games ;)

To be honest the way Nasri has come on in the centre im not as worried about him going now. Yes I would love it if he stayed as he is only going to get better. I just dont think it would be the end of the world if he did go.

I think he has another year in him at Arsenal but like most Arsenal fans I think its only a matter of time before he goes home.

The issue I'd have with us selling Fabregas is that we almost always get shafted on the transfer fee. We sold Vieira and Henry for less than £30m COMBINED when they were being touted in the £30-50m bracket EACH a couple of years prior.

Maybe that's the lesson we should learn I guess, maybe we need to sell players at their perceived peak and then we might get a proper fee. Say for Fabregas a realistic fee should be ~£40m (especially with currency fluctuations, that's only like €44m which was only £33m a couple of years back). But knowing how easily Arsenal let players go we'll probably only end up with £27m or some nonsense.

I think Wenger did say something about that a few months ago. He said that he is no longer willing to let his best players go at normal prices.

I think even at £40m I would feel we were short changed. I think I would rather keep him and as he has a contract until 2015, i think. Then we should only really accept silly prices for him.

I guess it depends on how badly the buying club wants him. Take Ronaldo for example, at £80m that genuinely was an offer too good to refuse. If a club really wanted Fabregas maybe they would go over £40m but I'd say that was a 'fair' valuation. If Arsenal don't want to sell at 'fair' prices then yes they would want more cash.

Anyway, we digress, this is a Rooney thread (somewhat bizarre that player threads are allowed, but club threads are banned, lol!).

real madrid also may go for him if Barca dont, they could do with him too, him and Xabi playing just behind Kaka would be pukka

i think wenger would want big bucks for him, maybe too much for Barca

I dont think he would leave for Madrid tho. I think the only team he is going to leave Arsenal for is Barca.

Anyway...as an arsenal fan I am glad Rooney is out for 2 - 4 weeks (hopefully the latter :p). Gives us a slight chance to try and pip them both at the final hurdle. If Arsenal had won all their remaining games I would have said that we would have won the EPL but Im not so sure now. Lets hope.

the ONLY reason I dont want Arsenal to win the title (if Utd dont win it) is because of the multitude of antagonistic posts by Spawn lately!!!

Re Rooney - I had prepared for the worst after seeing the match, and I wouldnt be at all surprised if he hasnt played at all before South Africa, I hope he makes it back for the CL Final (hahaha) but even that might be too soon - just happens to be on my birthday this year too (just like when Utd won it past midnight in Moscow)

PMSL makes me laugh that everyone picks up on my posts?..cant handle the heat then get out of the kitchen is an apt saying...im not the only who slates Utd on here but yet everyone has a pop at my posts....completely and utterly laughable in all honesty lol.

As for Fabregas?/..theres no way hes going to Madrid...hes a Barca boy through and through...its as simple as that.

RE Rooney...luckily for Utd hes not out for too long...as we have seen this season theres no clear cut winner yet and also Utd are still in with a shout in the CL....the second leg at OT will be a very interesting match and i wouldnt be surprised if Utd manage to beat Bayern...would have been completely different if the first leg was at OT rather than Bayern then things would have looked a bit glum for Utd.

seems to remember you getting told to calm down from a Mod recently - proves how much of a twit you have been recently

standard banter is one thing - you regularly step over the mark

No one minds a bit of banter but the sheer volume of posts you make about United along with your arrogant attitude means that you are going to take a lot of flak- you need to calm down a bit and worry about your own team.
