Hello people, need some help choosing a router. I currently using a Dlink DIR-655 which has worked perfectly for a long time, but starting to be a bit more flakey lately, I currently use the router on BT infinity, and have multiple laptops and a Synology Nas connected, and my main pc. Need some advice which router would be a worthy replacement I have narrowed it down to

Asus RT-AC66U 802.11ac
or

Asus RT-N66U .

Would I see a better perfomance on my Lan and also wifi? or any other router anybody could recommend?

Cheers

has mine about 6 month now and its on modded firmware with a ZTE mobile dongle connected to it for back up .when virgin go's down and works great,
the wifi is ok for my house (modern town house )on both 5ghz and 2.5ghz ,the signal on 5ghz is a little week to start with until the router sorts its self out when i connect my phone ,the phone(SG3) gets 59/62mbps from it on a 100mbps virgin line
xbox,wii and blu-ray all see it ,
its works well with my synology nas DS112j ,
i all this time its not missed a heart beat unlike the superhub ,
do not use the nas part or printer part off the router but i use the port forwarding parts and DDNs,
and its connected to a 24 port switch and cctv setup too all work fine

intresting, I have a access point set up at the moment as well, since i moved in to this new house which is quite big, and has solid walls. Some parts of the house I could not get a signal.
