Rover 200 engine swap

I miss my K. Nice engine to work on. Loads of room in the engine bay, everything within easy reach.

Didn't do an awful lot to it mind you. I saved that for when I got the 220 :o

Removing half the front end just to get the alternator out.... fun.

New lump all plumbed back in!

Shiny new rad!

All went back in nice and easy. Heard the k series can be a pig to start after being stood for a while or stripped down.
But Fired up nicely after a couple of spins of *** engine :D
Vid:

Costs:
Car £200
Engine £46
New rad gearbox oil £45
Gaskets and engine oil £55

So circa £350 for a mint s reg 200
Going up for sale at £1400

Didn't you change the cam belt and tensioners on the engine you bought? If you don't know the history that could be bad news for someone.

Good to see it back on the road, top job, i wouldn't have had a clue where to start when it broke down on me and chuffed you can get a big profit out of it, great work fella!!!!!

Considering doing this to my Mondeo as it will require a clutch change before the end of the summer.

I would learn a lot and I am pretty practical, but I don't know what I would be doing as I havn't taken an engine out before!
