Royal Mail Postmen

At least 5 of my ex workmates went to be posties and they were on £295 before tax when they left Indesit and all of them reckon (after tax) they are earning just as much.
They also get paid for delivering junk mail.
All of them were fat gits and now they aren't.

Ah thats good.

and i take it hours are like 5am to 1pm ish ?
Chances are you'll be on a part time contract. If you're lucky it'll be 7.24 to 2pm, if you're unlucky it'll be about 8.45 til 2pm, which I would think is more likely as due to cost cutting they are making one full time postman throw off and bag two jobs, one for him and the other for someone like you to come and just deliver.

To make your round even easier don't bother taking parcels round, just have a bunch of those "While you were out..." cards pre-filled in so you can sneak up to their letterbox and slip it through!

Mine always does this, presumably because he can't carry loads of parcels in his bag. Doesn't really bother me, the sorting office is only a few minutes drive away.

Guys (jeff), a moderator suggested you cool it... I would recommend calming down before they start to react... don't derail the thread.

Sorry I have nothing to add other than I have know a few people that have been a postman for years, they love the job :)

Good grief, that is truly pitiful. :(
It certainly isn't enough to support a family but it hasn't mattered because traditionally guys have had a decent amount of scope to boost it with overtime, but it the name of modernisation and cost cutting they now force guys to take out what they might've done on overtime in the past in their duty time. Hence the reason why many no longer "love their jobs".
