Royal Mail rant incoming...

So that's 5 days now. 2 RMSD parcels collected at the same time still not delivered both lost. I thought they where all accounted for and tracked and no one dares steal SD parcels. Both expensive networking gear. Each time you try Phone your on hold for an hour. What a total shambles I guess RMSD is no longer what it was and I'm now going to have the joy of testing the claims process.

That was where I was two weeks ago. Very irritating and it's probably one operator.

Its not like postpersons are some kind of infallible beacon of trustworthiness - obviously I'm not saying all of them are dodgy, I'm sure 99.9% of them are perfectly fine and do the best job they can, but there are bound to be a few bad apples who now have an easy opportunity to steal any parcel which looks like it might have something valuable inside, and the customer has to pick up the bill
Interesting point of view. You don't think that people claim to have not received an item so as to get a refund/replacement?

I believe it was The Guardian that reported that after GPS was implemented within parcel delivery claims for non-delivery fell by 85% within a month.

I've had RM take things back to the delivery office even when it would have fitted the letterbox!
Strange that..... postie writing out one of those red cards posting it through your door. Putting your item in his/her bag. Walking around round with it for the rest of the day, then being responsible for ensuring it gets to the right section back at the Post Office. Then who knows the postie might get a re-delivery request!

Why are you quoting October 13th?

Of course they do, which is why royal mail get you to sign for the parcel to say you've received it.

Oh, no, wait, they've stopped doing that, leaving themselves wide open for claims with no way to prove otherwise. *oops*

Royal Mail doesn't get to decide anything any decision on getting or not getting a signature is down to Ofcom. I'm guessing that ~150,000 dead people might have had an influence on that decision.

Royal Mail even had to get Ofcoms permission to suspend the USO on New Year's day.

Well then it sucks to be a delivery company who didn't decide to implement an alternative, like... I don't know, taking a photo like every other delivery company now does
